Ray, I haven't seen too many actual displays of the minis yet.  I haven't even opened up most of my collection, and I don't think the gamers actually have their's in a permanent display since they're usually gaming with them.  I do know that DaBigKahuna had a pretty decent idea a while back, where he was using multiple CD jewel cases stacked up and staggered in order to make a clear, tiered display.  Looked pretty cool.  Not entirely sure how I plan to eventually display all of mine yet though.

Thanks for the tip! Is there a pic somewhere that shows what they look like displayed with the jewel cases? I don't think I'll be gaming with them. They are mainly just a replacement for my love of micro machines...only 10x better on the sculpts!

I just bit the bullet and bought a case of the Clone Strike, OUCH! :o. Wish me luck I get something in there that worth it.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad figure. I just don't think that the Gunner body is something you can make a so called "grand army" out of. With the limited amount of poses you can put it into its more of a filler figure than an army builder. The JTA 501st is superior simply because of the poseabiltiy. I've opened two now and they seem to mix well with the six JTA Clones I have. I'll get maybe one or two more but can't see buying more than that.

then I probably shouldn't tell you of the morning I counted 36 Target clones on the pegs and didn't even buy one ;D

Wow! The most I saw was 12 at one time and they were all gone within 5 minutes of the store opening.

The legs on mine seem pretty tight. Although I've only opened one. I figured this might be a problem since it was a problem with the AT TE Gunner too.  ::)

Here in MN, they are really hitting the local Targets. (in time for the sale, woot! ;D)

Speaking of which, around here, any time there is a sale at Target, they have to break out the rain checks because they never get in any figures to promote it. What's the deal?

That's because when they do get the stuff in the previous week they hardly ever hold it for the promo. As soon as the stuff comes in they toss it right to the floor. Quite a few of the Targets by me stocked a good amount (mostly Gree/Bly wave) the week BEFORE the sale. Now they don't have anything to put out the week of the sale. If Target really cared that the product would be available the week of the sale they would wait till saturday night to deliver it. Although Corporate shouldn't have to babysit these store managers either. Store managers should be able to pay enough attention to detail beforehand to make sure they're aware of ALL product that needs to be held back. Not just the exclusives...

How do you guys display your minis? I've been thinking about putting them in one of those clear acrylic display cases (easier to clean) but can't seem to find a place that sells them. Anybody have any idea of where to pick displays like that up?

Well I finally made it over here, Matt. Nice little place you got here  ;). I'm just getting into this line and once I grabbed my first booster, it was all over! Now it's time to play catch up. If anyone has a list of extras they have for sale/trade post a link for me. I am looking for all ROTS, CS, and some RS and Universe. As of now the only notables I have to spare would be 2x Thrawn and a Nute Gunray from the Universe line. Also, where is the best place to buy cases?

Ray your best bet will be F & S.  They give a pretty good discont on cases there.  I think they're sell Universe cases for under $70.

Thanks! I figure I future lines from F & S. Since I'm having to back track though for the previous lines I'm thinking Ebay is the only way to do this. Unless there are still some online stores with cases of the RS, ROTS & CS available. Those CS cases are going to give my wallet a beating though!  Cheapest I've seen them going for is like $180 :o

Well, I found these today over lunch.  After opening my first one, I decided that he is much better than I was expecting so I went ahead and opened the other one I bought.

They match up pretty well with the K-Mart Clones in color which is nice (I wasn't expecting that after seeing that the Bly/Evo paints were off-key).  Also, it feels like the joints on these guys are stronger.  Compared to the AT-TE Gunners I've got, the 501 Clones arms stay in the sockets much better, which is a nice surprise.

The red stuff on the feet is a little lame, but I guess there is nothing I can do about it.... I still wonder why they did that since the 501st were pretty much only on Coruscant from what I understood.   :-\

The helmet is definitely removable, and the clone underneath still has that "vacant" open-mouthed stare that the AT-TE Gunner had.  I guess I like the removable helmet, so it's a plus.

Despite the limits of the arms on the #38 sculpt, they are still pretty cool Clones and I'm glad I found them.

And, just in case Hasbro's reading... even though I've got 5 blue clones, I'd still be willing to buy a few 501st repaints of the #41 Trooper to fill out my squad!

I saw the break down of what you bought when you found these in the recent purchases thread. Is that the case asst that you found or was that all that was left? Curious because I thought that case asst had been cancelled  ???

updated & bump!

With the excessive repacking that Hasbro is known for I've already changed my collecting habits too. I USED to be a completist. It doesn't make sense to have 10 of the same figure though, just in different packaging. I'm not going to stop collecting by any means, just be selective about what I'm buying.

Any word yet if there is production number on these? Are these shipping in cases of 6?

I had a case opened up right in front of my eyes. Definitely solid case of six of these. At least Target is doing that right! Unlike K-mart doing 3x3 of the JTA/ITR Battlepacks  >:(
