Other Collectibles / Re: Your Interest in the Star Wars Lines
« on: July 28, 2006, 01:12 PM »
My interest in the lines has faded....but for the most part, the stuff that I collect is fairly complete, and I'm also concentrating on paying for a wedding, and moving to a new place.  That being said, there are a few things on my Want List:

If MR makes a TPM or AOTC version of Obi-Wan's saber in FX form...I'm all over it.

I love the Disney stuff, mainly the small plush figures like Jedi Mickey, Darth Mickey and Darth Goofy.  I'd love to have one of those Jedi Mickey Statues...but I think that's going to remain on the wish list for a long time.

I really like the quality product that Sideshow is putting out with the 12" figures.  I have the Obi-Wan and Darth Maul on order, and doubt I'll get more beyond that...but who knows.

I will probably always keep my eye out for oddball stuff like Film trailers and the like....I love stuff like that since a lot of people don't have them in their collections.

Although I don't really consider them part of my collection....I'll definitely keep playing the video games!

I've been hearing this for a long, long time.  Everytime they tell me we're going to a more paperless Air Force, I get ten new forms to fill out.   ::)

True....but there have been a few "console only" games like Obi-Wan.  I think they came out with a PC version of SOTE, but it came out so late and in such a small production amount, that I never picked it up.

Kind of hard to think of what characters are left.  I think the only one they haven't done is a mini Qui-Gon saber.  I doubt you'd see a Grievous saber set since they all looked like Obi-Wan's and Anakin's anyway.

Fine with me if the line is done....I have all the Obi-Wan sabers, even the golds and dark chrome, which is all I really wanted in the first place...plus a few of the odd ones like Maul's regular and BD, Dooku's, etc.

Pretty cool!  I'm guessing the story is centered around some remaining Jedi after ROTS.  Is this just for the PS3 or will there be a PC version?

You got it.

I don't have the Hasbro version, but I can almost guarantee that the Sideshow version will have a better sculpt and be more poseable.

I base this comparison on the SS Anakin Skywalker compared to the Hasbro Ultimate Villain Anakin/Vader.

You guys are both right....but JK wins it since his was the SW EU quote and the other was a Monty Python and the Holy Grail quote.   :D

POTF2 can never be vintage because there were vintage figures.

As also stated earlier, and several times, in this thread, every line from POTF2 and on a LOT of people purchased figures, vehicles, whatever and kept them boxed and the supplies of these figures was/is much higher than the Kenner Vintage days.

I'm not knocking POTF2, EP I, POTJ or any of the other lines (except the Early saga stuff....that was pure crap and actually got me to stop collecting for a while), but even though there are some figures that are extremely rare in the more modern lines I don't think I could ever call them Vintage....even the EP I stuff that I've actually heard called the "New Vintage".

Wow! That should be fun.  Any idea on where you might go?

I suggest going up river a bit to West Point and the surrounding Hudson Valley....I grew up there and there's a lot of cool things to see...especially if you like History.  Too bad you aren't going in the Septamber/October timeframe....that's when the leaves change and it's absolultely amazing to see.

I played Dr Mario on the original NES.  It is a fun, addicting game.
