Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition

I picked up a non mint SW carring case for $4 today. The clasp was missing, but it still had the cardboard inset. Dispite it's non-functioning clasp, these are still the best figure carriers, hands down.

Picked up a Plo Koon's Starfighter on clearance.

I finally got Halo (1, 2 and the map pack!) :D

Also, a humorous note- we got our 5 (nearly 6) year old daughter a nice prop replica of Hermionie's wand. She though it was a real wand and got kind of scared of it. While a little sad, it was still cute.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Carded Wedge, finally!
« on: December 24, 2005, 12:44 PM »
My Wedge arrived. I hate to say, but the hemelt does bug me. Despite the fact that the Vander Helmet is not a snug fit, I would still have liked it packed in re-painted.

Tie fighters and the Mufustar Playset are being marked down at Target. >$28 for the TIE fighter and >$21 for the playset.

I'm going to have to dissagree Kill_Solo. I can definately see the antenea and the shoulder joints are a dead give away that these are not the #6 clone. The fact that the paint on the left shoulder plate doesn't cover the plate all the way shows that it is not the swappable plate.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: What Makes a Good Figure?
« on: December 24, 2005, 12:15 PM »
You said it chewie, excellent topic! I like a well sculpted figure with the right amount of articulation for that figure. I'm in the camp that says not every figure needs SA.

I think main/core characters should have as much articulation as they can take without infringing on the look of the figure and BG characters should have at least good swivel elbows in addition to standard articulation. However, I think ball jointed shoulders should be standard. Army builders should be SA all the way. I think the could sell more unpopular armybuilders like the Utapau Warriors just because they're SA.

To address speedermike's Lucas Family comment, I think the Barron and the Blue daughter look fantastic and the face scuplts look very life-like. I just ask myself if these are exciting figures for me to have.

Well, I was on the fence about buying Chewie and Boba for an opener set, but after taking a close look, I picked them up anyway. Still left Barada behind though, a new paint job is a tough sell. I still haven't opened my OTC Bespin Luke.

I scored the Saga wave at TRU. They rang up at $6.99, but my wife insisted that they charge me $5.99 since there were no $6.99 tags to be seen.

That wave of Saga figures was a pain to get. I never saw the Baton in hand version.

I'd love to see something (anything) thrown in with R5.

They are. They've re-worked the missle attacke and are now calling it "rockect propelled motivator" feature.

Just kidding.

I kind of like it too. This and the air speeder were good throw backs to the mini-rigs, toys I really enjoyed. Maybe the pilot's appealing because he has a vinatge feel to him. :-\

Some of mine have discolored. I'd like to find a way to remove the battle damage and I think Jared has found just the right remover to do so.

Incidently, I opened one of my 4-packs and a commtech last night. I have over 50. When adding my VOTC's. I have over a 100 stormies as well.
