Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. Where was it supposed to fit in?

Saga Collection '06 / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting
« on: June 6, 2005, 12:37 PM »
I loved reading everyone's perspectives. As for the future of collectiong, I thinks it's imposible to say, yet I know what to expect. Over the years it seems Hasbro has been trying to adapt to what everyone wants. Granted, it's taken almost ten years, but  I think they're getting the hang of it. Sure there's going to be less than stellar figures out there, but that's to be expected.

Overall, I'm optimistic. I think were going to see a lot of quality figures for many more years to come.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Deluxe Clone 3-pack
« on: June 6, 2005, 12:25 PM »
If there's anything we can count on from Hasbro, it's consistancy. They are not going to ship the varient randomly in the same case assortment, that's not what they did for the Clone Wars series. The white clones are in wave 3 rotation 1. I'm going to guess that at the very least, there is going to be four more rotations, 3 with a different color variation in each and one with all three in the same 3-pack. Hopefuly, they'll kick the quantity up to 2 per case, but that reamins to be seen. So when anyone finds a colored 3 pack, try to take note of the R# and case ratio.

Has anybody thought about buying some of the cheapo stormtroopers you can find in the under-the-counter bin for like $0.50 becaues they're so yellow that taxi cabs get jealous and tried repainting them white and adding all the black parts back where they should be with paint or a sharpie?

I'm thinking it might be a fun way to army build vintage stormtroopers without hardly any cost other than the weapons.

I've actually done that as you can see in the image below. Personally, I wasn't overly happy with the results, I couldn't find a white to best match the color of the armor and my attempts on the helmet were blah to say the least...

This is funny. I have 15 Stormies now, but 11 of them I recently got in a large lot of stuff. There were lots of army builder stuff, so they didn't focus on anything in particular in the pictures. All but one stormie was painted like the one in this picture. I spent a lot of time removing the paint and still haven't been able to get all the paint out of the mouth grill.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS 's PG-13 rating justified ?
« on: June 4, 2005, 09:15 PM »
I think the Anakin dismemberment scene and catching on fire warrents a PG-13 rating without question. My five year old is dying to see the movie, but I know she would cause a big stir durring that sequence. The MPAA made the right call.

Well, how many of the Aliens from ANH did you see in TESB and ROTJ?

Can you point any Cantina alien out in TESB or ROTJ?

I think that's largly in part due to the fact that Lucas hated most of the aliens in the Cantina.

MattF's right.

The exchange in ANH is okay with me too.

We have to ask ourselves, who wanted the picture more? Lucas or the waitresses?

Whenever I buy shoes, I buy them from REI. Almost any shoe you buy there lasts forever. Well worth the money and very comfortable.

Chewie's Tarzan impersonation

I gotta go with this as well. And it gets worse as I get older.

The inserted Jabba scene in ANH also make me cringe becasue the animation is so under-par.

I paid $5.88 each for three figures at an out-of-the-way Wal-Mart today, so it wouldn't surprise me if brick-and-mortar Wal-Marts nationwide get on the price-raising bandwagon.

I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. I also wonder if Target will sustaine that price. They may very well take a profit hit. Here's for hoping.
