Interesting.  So I guess they're just making these characters up out of thin air.  Weird... but of course I'll buy it.

I love the idea of a SA evil-looking senate battle Palpatine.  It's about time they make one on par with the Evolutions version... one that looks realistic.  I mean, he's only the ultimate villain of the WHOLE saga, Vader's boss -- you'd think they could finally make a decent action figure of him. (again, Evolutions not withstanding)

So the store is open 24 hours.  Does that mean anyone can just walk in 24 hours a day?  Or do you still need a badge for that day to go in?

See you in the clearance aisle, Order 66!   ::)

Yup --- absolutely!  Garbage.  I hate that legless-solid-plastic Palpatine mold.

Does anyone know where that "Animated Boba Fett" is from?  Not the new 3-d animated cartoon???

Hey Hasbro! / What's with the TINS?
« on: July 26, 2006, 09:03 PM »
My great, great grandmother used to collect these.  I couldn't be more uninterested in bad repaints and repacks of boring figures served up to me in a cookie tin.  Maybe I can put it on the shelf next to a nice cutlery set and porcelaine plate display.   ;D

Hands down best diorama I have ever seen.  Stunning.

This sums it up!

Some ideas for figures I hope they DON'T make...

Lugagwi – guy who hugs the Rancor Keeper

Yeah...I'd buy the guy that hugs the Rancor Keeper too.

So... what you're saying is...

--So what I'm saying is that this whole topic is a joke.  An open discussion about the comedic value in b.g. characters and their worth to fans.  Truth is, I would probably buy all of them.  But the point is that what we would consider to be ridiculous figures, sometimes actually work... or at least, we buy them.  Cases in point: Porkins.  Absolutely ridiculous.  I bought two... love the fat b*stard.  Also - the mutton chops guy from the bar with Chewie... A great, background character and interesting choice for a figure.  There's a lot to be said about that.  Take Ewok Corpses for example.  Stupid idea, but I know a lot of people who would buy them.   Dengar in tank top... let's say for sake of argument, in the Expanded Universe some day, we see this...  we see Dengar in his hut, or whatever, in a tank top letting his hair down, drinking a beer... what have you.  Well, d*mn, that's about as interesting as the Lucas Family Collector's set in my opinion.  I'll take it.

Yeah...I'd buy the guy that hugs the Rancor Keeper too.

Although they made a Luke that looks like the Toshi Station figure, it isn't actually called "Toshi Station Luke".  Which is why they shouldn't make another one, just to rename it.  Same with the Chewie prisoner, wasn't it Boush's prisoner?  The old ploy by Hasblo... to take an exisiting figure and simply rename and repackage it!

Yeah, I think I agree with those choices.  The only thing I'm scared about with X3 is Ratner.  I think his last few movies have been total stinkers... not just bad, but unwatchable.  It looks really amazing though, so hopefully he got it right.

Superman looks great too.  Singer is awesome and I have no doubt he will score with this one.  Spacey is always great... and it was a smart move to use John Williams' score and continue the feel from the Donner films.  My only fear is this guy who plays Superman... he looks kind of goofy and we haven't seen any shots of him actually talking and acting.

Pirates 2 looks awesome.  JD rules.  Also, some good looking comedies... I hope Nacho Libre is good... love those guys.  Also, the Will Ferrell Nascar movie looks hilarious.

What else???
