TV-9D9 / Re: Live Action Show Based Around OT?
« on: September 29, 2006, 01:43 AM »
Hopefully Lucas will realize what you've said. I'd be surprised though, as he seems to only have yes-men in his organization.

I'm glad it will be a planned out series though, not open ended.  100 episodes devoted to this time span.  That mean planning, and good flow.  Not the typical mash that tends to happen after a few seasons of a show.  Where the writers are surprised to learn they have another season and thus must quickly concoct new scenarios.

Heh, wow this is a massive thread.  I'd never heard of Rebelscum until I joined Jefidefender.  I still have never visited the site.   Am I pure then?  =p

I'm just dying that Kazakhstan is 'fighting' back.  That's hilarious!

If they want to reach Americans they should buy an add on a show like Lost instead of an ad spread in a newspaper.

I'm eager to read this book, I wasn't very happy with the Hand of Thrawn story though.  It just never seemed to go anywhere.

oh a ROTS infinities.  Actually all the prequels could be redone to avoid the stupid parts that Lucas put in, and/or better them.

Wow, I'd love to see my ideas for ROTS put into comic form!

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: TPB Books
« on: September 28, 2006, 12:33 AM »
Darkhorse has streamlined it pretty well lately.  They used to take forever. Actually, the didn't do it for a long while, at first.

I like either way,  If I'm able to hit the comic shop regularly I'll go with the single issues, but the TPBs are fine too.  I do like the hunt on back issues as well.  I don't display my comics on a shelf either, everything is in comic boxes with comic sleaves and a backercard.  I've never had a beat up comic storing them this way.

Never would I buy both versions!

Another trouble with TPBs is the issues that DH will choose to include.  Many are out of order. I just HAVE to have my comics in chronological order.  DH also doesn't put every issue into TPBs and I've found a few TPBs where they don't state which issues are in it.  I even emailed them to ask, they never responded.

Thanks for getting the post in the right place.

I'd have to say Rainbow6 wasn't all that free, well from what I can remember.  I hate it when 'allies' in a game go off and do whatever they want. Like walking infront of me while I'm shooting.  And like everytime that results in a failed misson! grrr.

R6, I would use my allies as blockers, just set them in a spot and set them to not move and shoot at bad guys.  I'm going to have to dig it out and play it again.

AH, thanks Jesse!

Darn that knocks Battlefront for me a lot too. I'm not too into Multiplayer.  How would you rate it as SP?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Everything Wal-Mart
« on: September 27, 2006, 11:04 PM »
The negatives are far outweighed by the positives.  No, I have no connection/vested interest in anything regarding Wal-Mart.

Certainly a single savings on a can of beans won't change the world for everyone. I'm talking volume of goods are lower prices, convenience.  And that $60 bucks you saved over the month can provide someone with some added item or service that makes their life more comfortable.  Any money I can save is money I can direct elsewhere.

I don't buy into this whole ploy that Wal-Mart kills main street.  Main street is simply obselete as a business model.  Well, not for all types of stores.

I really don't appreciate having to hunt for those short stories.  They ought to make the more available to fans.

I would have really enjoyed lucas showing one or two of the (non Yoda/NonObi) jedi surviving Order 66.  It was all to easy killing the jedi that he picked to show dying.  Lucas made a number of point purely for the EU. He could have shown, definitively, that Jedi were able to survive the initial attempt on their lives.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Star Wars Insider
« on: September 27, 2006, 01:07 AM »
I let my insider subscription lapse this year.  I didn't like the change over. I didn't want to pay for the hyperspace site account, I simply wanted the mag.  Then they upped the price to boot.

I don't have much money to throw around and it went up by whatever the subscription is now, per year! =)

Plus, I had a fiasco with them about getting my issues, ending up missing like 6 of them!  That's a whole year.  What a pain that was. They finally agreed to send me my back issues but that didn't even go right.  They ended up sending me 12 issues, and that was still with 3 of the one's I needed missing. heh
