Other Toy Lines / Re: 2012: What Are You Collecting?
« on: January 15, 2012, 11:04 PM »
I've got quite a lot going on collecting wise.

Star Wars - Pretty much TVC since Clone Wars is all but non existent this year. I'll buy what I like the look of, I'm not a completist.

Marvel - I'm enjoying the Universe line right now, picking up what I can find and what I like the look of. I may grab a Legend or two when they come back, but only the big guns. I'm also down for the movieverse stuff when that hits.

DC - I've got the sub, so 1 a month starting in April. Also gotta finish off the last two waves. Not too much going on for DC this year.

Transformers - Also pretty dry from what I've seen so far. I'll pick up any cool Generations stuff, and I'm down for a couple things from the movieverse and Prime, but not much more than a couple of items hold my interest. I'm attempting to back track and pick up some of the old Beast Wars stuff though.

Masters of the Universe - I've got the sub, so I'm all in. It's a fun line, and I'm really enjoying it and it looks to be a good line up this year.

Lego - Lego is the wild card for me this year. I picked up a couple Atlantis sets for 50% off after x-mas and it kind of broke the flood gates on me. Lego is just so much more fun than all those figures I fiddle with for a few minutes and stick on the shelf, so I'm down for pretty much whatever looks cool and I can afford, looking forward to some Star Wars, Marvel/DC, Lord of the Rings, City and the upcoming Monster Hunters stuff.

So thats it for me, a lot of categories, but many of them are pretty slim pickings this year. It'll mostly be Star Wars, Masters and Lego.

I can probably get passed the height issue, depending on if he's as gummy as his predecessors. For those that have him, how is the plastic quality? Does this one actually hold together pretty well?

In cases like the really nice yet boring type figures, waiting for the inevitable sales is probably the best bet, especially with the first wave of a series, which usually ends up pegwarming to some degree as it's usually over saturated, and the kiddies aren't exactly clamoring for Daulty Dofine. If Hasbro can get their case assortments a little bit better this year, then there's really no reason you shouldn't be able to score everything for a decent price with a little patience. There aren't too many figures these days that I have a "must have right this second" mentality on (minus the really cool aliens like Bom Vimdin and such) and Ive managed to get practically everything during 2011's run at a fair price.

Yeah, I was actually really shocked when the shot was fired, kind of did a double take there. I didn't think they'd do it either.

This was a phenomenal series of episodes and the ending did not disappoint me. Did anyone else get goosebumps  with Krells "it's treason then" line? Nice throwback to ol Palps. I was very pleased that Krell wasn't some double agent or something, just a horribly arrogant and disillusioned jedi who wanted to change sides. I also think that Krell surviving well makes sense in the context of order 66. He saw them coming after all, he was on the defensive, while the Jedi in ROTS had no reason to suspect that the clones would start shooting them at any given time, especially in the middle of a battle. I suspect they would not have gone down so easily if they hadn't been surprised.

Great set of eps though, I love the clones, clone centric eps rarely disappoint. They managed to take these faceless armored guys from the prequels and make each one unique in their own way, they have a lot of depth for being "identical" and it's great. It just further makes me want this show to eventually do an order 66 episode. See whats going through their minds while their blowing away their former comrades, wee them wrestle with it. My only let down was the sort of abrupt ending, it would have been nice to have the jedi discussing what the hell went wrong with this guy and how they didn't notice that this guy was such a maniac. But other than that, great. A+

It would be nice if this new Battle Droid was capable of holding his blaster with both hands, like they all do in the movie. We haven't had a battle droid capable of that since the ROTS line i don't think. As for Quadrinaros, I think he's hilarious. Hasbro took this goofy, stupid character and made him look so unbelievably blood thirsty. Look at those red eyes and that sinister grin, he looks like he's gonna rip someone a new one and enjoy every second of it.

I definitely agree. I was gonna pass on Sidious completely till I saw the robe less pics. He turned out really well, as did this whole wave. I'm actually really looking forward to the Phantom Menace releases, it's a very solid group of figures with a little bit of everything for everyone, cool aliens, army builders, droids, jedi and sith. Whats not to love?

So does anyone know whats up with Mawhonic being so short? Or is that how tall he actually is in the move? I always figured he was regular Gran sized.

Jar Jar is confirmed over at Banthaskull coming at end of 2012 on Vintage Card!!!!
Jar Jar was confirmed in a Q&A a while ago!!!

I can't believe people are so excited over a Jar-Jar figure!

It's one of the signs of the apocalypse. The world really is ending in 2012, the day Jar Jar is released.

It was very intense, and great that they're finally doing some more eps about the actual clone wars as the series title suggests. I'm also really looking forward to see how the whole Krell thing plays out, I'd really like to know if he's a jedi twisted by the wars, or if he's always been a jerk. Very good eps though, I'd really love to see more like this. Eps like this make me want to buy more clones.  :P

If anyone had any interest in this line but passed due to the price, they're having a special Halloween sale for today only, 60% off. Basic figures are 8$ each and Stay Puft is in stock as well. I couldn't resist at that price.

I'm thinking Yakface will show up without any help from voters sooner or later. i voted for Tzzzvzzt, just cuz I think he's kooky and seems like one of the less likely Cantina dudes to come out.

My prediction is that the Sif wave will probably show up in fairly decent numbers at close out discount stores next year sometime, as is usually the case with these final waves. heres hoping at least.
