Watto's Junk Yard / Re: THANK YOU for using REAL NAMES!
« on: June 8, 2003, 08:45 AM »
I know most everyone, but there's so many Matt's and Chris' now I mix Matt's and Chris' together...  ??? :-X

If you forget someone's name Angry Ewok, just call them "Matt," and chances are you'll get it right in JD.

Are there more Matt's or Chris'?  I think JediMAC told me there were at least 4 of the Matt-kind here.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: AT-ST
« on: June 8, 2003, 08:25 AM »
If the AT-ST chicken walker were to be redone, my gut tells me that it still wouldn't be done right.  For a fine example of one of Hasbro's "resculpted and improved scale" vehicles, check out the new TIE Fighter.  What went on there?  I thought the reason for redoing it was to resculpt the wings so that they were a little more accurate in size?  What did we get?  The same old bowling ball with a Flinstone wheel stuck on each side of the cockpit...minus the battery compartment.

We're getting all these new figures with great new sculpts, yet Hasbro, even in there "improved" vehicles, are using the same molds from 1977-1983.

If a new AT-ST is going to be along those lines, I just assume get a clone trooper AT-TE or Banking Clan Spider Droid instead.

The Wookiee Arcade / Re: PS2 Clones Wars worth the $40?
« on: June 8, 2003, 01:18 AM »
I too think Clone Wars is overpriced.  The best parts though IMO are when you get to pilot the Republic Gunship.

I've been addicted to Galactic Battlegrounds for 2 years solid, but Clone Wars only had my attention for 3 weeks.

I've got my clone campaigns expansion pack all mastered, I'm ready to go.

If you're up for it, holler back.

Toy Reviews / Re: Lott Dod
« on: June 8, 2003, 12:55 AM »
Thanks to CHEWIE's advice a few months ago at RS (am I allowed to mention that place here?  :-X ) I have now purchased 10 Lott Dodd figures.  The body and robe makes an excellent framework for generic alien senators...walrusmen, Ithorian hammerheads, mon calamari, quarren, you name it!

Toy Reviews / Re: Republic Gunship
« on: June 8, 2003, 12:51 AM »
This is my favorite Star Wars vehicle ever released.  Three must be a magic number BobaBinks, I've got 3 hanging from my ceiling also.  On a couple of them I have the 2 grappling hooks in the back deployed with clones being dropped from the ship.

This vehicle gets a 9.5 out of 10 in my book.

What would make it a 10?

Gun pods with seats for the clone troopers.

A gun pod and clone would make a great deluxe set!   :D

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Is Mace Windu a "bad egg"...?
« on: June 7, 2003, 10:28 PM »
I'm pretty sure Mace wasn't "placed in the Jedi Council to cloud the Jedi's vision" or is some kind of "sith plant" onto the council.

Why?

Always two there are, no more, no less.

And in EII, we have exactly two already.  Dooku and Sidious.

The Sith hate threesomes.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Dagobah is Naboo?
« on: June 7, 2003, 10:24 PM »
I guess it's entirely possible.

But this reminds me, I shouldn't be visiting these threads.  I want EIII to be the first time I see a Star Wars film without having knowledge of this kind before hand.  I ruined the experience of EI and EII with spoilers.

I'll talk to you all about the mushroom cloud over Naboo after the flick!

In the meantime, catch you in the action figure forums!

There are actually quite a few examples of Geonosians fighting in the Arena:

1.  The Geonosians that man the sonic cannons.

2.  In the defensive circle when Mace says they will not be hostages for Dooku to barter, look at the sky, there are many Geonosians surrounding the Jedi with blasters trained on them.

3.  Obi Wan fights off 1 or 2 Geonosians when he's fighting the Reek

4.  All the Geonosians that attacked Anakin and Padme in the factory

5.  Several Geonosians are seen scampering up to Jedi with either blasters or electropoles, and die for their trouble.

Still and all, Poggle did declare he was going to send his warriors to hide in the mountain, but I guess a few didn't get the message  ;)

Probably the most breathtaking thing we've seen in any Star Wars movie to date....

200 Jedi brandishing lightsabers

So, Dressel Rebel's vote goes to the Arena Battle on Geonosis.

Episode 1 / Re: Who else loves their Episode One collection?
« on: June 7, 2003, 06:49 AM »
I think the line had a lot of duds, and too many versions of the main characters.  It was a pretty decent line though because it started out with Obi Wan and Qui Gon with, for the time, was a good amount of articulation, the figures able to hold the lightsabers with 2 hands.  We got a few too many versions of Obi Wan, Qui Gon, Maul, and little Anakin for my liking.

Power of the Jedi / Re: Best POTJ Fig?
« on: June 7, 2003, 06:42 AM »
If I'm forced to pick just one, it would have to be POTJ Sandtrooper.

But the numerous runner ups include:

Rebel Fleet Trooper (REALLY CLOSE)
Amanaman
Tessek
Duros
Coruscant Senate Guard
R2-Q5
Gungan Warrior
Plo Koon
Imperial officer
Mas Amedda

Ooooooh, did I spot a custom Orrimaarko first figure on the upper left side of the first photo?

I think I did!
