The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series Rumors

Beware, Nicklab, once you go down the SH Figuarts path, you'll never go back!

I agree on the lack of PT figures. I was also thinking the other day about how little repacks/rereleases we've gotten. Like, I'm surprised we never got some sort of exclusive Rey/Finn/Kylo box set, Luke/Vader/Palpatine, etc. Most figures are released, and if you don't get them, you're SOL.

Walmart near my parents' place had Krennic's Shuttle for $54, so I snagged it following Mother's Day festivities. Not really an amount I wanted to spend on a set I really didn't want, but I couldn't pass up that deal (MSRP is $89.99) plus it has some great minifigs.

Said Walmart also had the TIE Striker for $35 (half off!) but they were sold out.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Star Wars comics go back to Marvel

I always skip Free Comic Book Day. We don't get any of the cool cosplayers, and the free books are all taken by the Hot Wheels scalpers in line at 7am. The rest of the day is just standing in a long line, usually in Texas heat, to go inside a small tent and look at empty shelves.

Anyway, Marvel's Star Wars: Darth Vader replaces Marvel's Star Wars: Darth Vader

HUGE clearances at TRU, at least my local store that did not have these last week. All TFA figures are $4.49, vehicles down to $19.99, Black Series figures (or rather the 50 Finns and Zuvios on the pegs for 18 months) down to $11.99

I got some Japanese figures in the mail last week, specifically Phasma, Rey and ROTS Vader. Haven't opened Vader, but he comes with cool "crossed" hands, which allow you to pose him with his arms crossed like at the end of ROTS.

Rey is a pretty fun figure though, with a TON of accessories. My only complaints re with the quality of the figure: the left arm falls off since the peg is too small (had to fix that with a dab of Krazy Glue), and the hands are way too small, so putting the lightsaber or blaster in her hands takes a good 2-3 minutes.

Phasma is alright, I enjoy the vac-metal with "dirt" weathering they did, but it's just kind of a boring figure, much like the character. Looks good standing behind Kylo, but not much else you can do with it.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Recent purchases

I keep holding out hope too but my stores either haven't stocked since Force Friday or are clogged with Finn, Endor Han, and General Leia. I only ever saw the Ackbar/Lando repack wave at an out of town Walmart.

I did some whining about MORE Gamestop exclusives on Reddit and was PM'ed by a Gamestop employee that said they were working to improve on the R5 situation and treating collectibles as video games, but will still typically only get enough to fulfill preorders. So apparently preordering ($5 down, pay the rest at pickup) guarantees you a figure. Might be worth a shot.

Star Wars Anthology / Re: Rogue One (SPOILER FREE)

Yeah, not bad for $120 lol. I believe Japan hasn't latched on to streaming media like the US has so they still buy physical DVDs of movies and companies have to offer cool stuff besides the basic discs we get here in America now. I think that insert with the merchandise is my favorite part, really takes me back to 2004 when you could get a 2 disc DVD for like $13 on release day at Walmart.

Grabbed the UCS Slave I at my local LEGO Store today, along with the Duel on Naboo set. UCS Snowspeeder was sold out!

I imported the Japanese Blu-Ray of Rogue One for the SH Figuarts Death Trooper, and decided to throw together an album of all the goodies it comes with

Someone on Reddit bought one or two of these and gave them a recommendation... for the stands. Apparently these come with a few pegs, which fit regular 3.75 inch figures (might have to trim the length of some since they'll stick out too far on some figures), and you can place them in various points on the base. So once these hit clearance they might be worth it for the bases, but otherwise the figures are a waste of money and resources, and are made even worse with the awful paint apps.

Got Stormie and R5/R2 in the mail today...

Do yourself a favor and order these.  Dare I say, skip getting R2 from Hasbro, get this one.  It looks pretty in-scale to me to the Hasbro figures, and the crispness and details are just vastly superior even if all you do is apply the stickers after you snap the kit together.

I've been debating doing just this in lieu of the Gamestop R5 fiasco... plus these figures are much more in scale with 6 inch figures than Hasbro figures are.

Other Collectibles / Re: Bandai Star Wars Vehicle Model Kits
« on: May 2, 2017, 09:07 AM »
I know this thread is about vehicle kits, but has anyone ever ordered any of the 6 inch scale figure model kits? I know they've done mostly troopers and droids, but the Hasbro fiasco trying to get a R2-D2 and R5-D4 has left me considering getting the R2/R5 model kit. They cost about the same as one Hasbro figure, and apparently are really good/cheap for testing out custom paint for weathering, much like the model vehicles.

Edit: Nevermind, found the other thread as soon as I posted this. To stay on topic, these models are very tempting.
