Saga '02-'04 / Re: BAIL ORGANA WAVE = A+ rating!
« on: November 24, 2003, 05:12 PM »
I've only found Bail and Janus so far, but both of these figures are very well done.  I really hope to find Obi and the Concept Stormie soon, both of those figures look great as well.  Seems to be a really good wave of figures :).

Other Toy Lines / Re: Which is Your Favorite "Other Toy Line"?
« on: November 24, 2003, 04:40 PM »
Thought I'd bump this up to see if anyone else wanted to comment, or if anyone else's opinions have changed.  For me, Star Wars is easily first and foremost...and I really only have a couple of figures from other lines (my favorites).  I have "tried" other lines slowly, because I simply don't have the money or room...and my Star Wars collection is more important to me than other toy lines.  That being said, other figures in my room that aren't Star Wars are currently: Rohan Armor Legolas and "bendy" Smeagol from LOTR, He-Man, Sy-Klone, and someday hopefully Roboto from MOTU, a Spy Troops Snake-Eyes, and Beast, Gambit, Wolvie, and Magneto from Marvel Legends.  I think the only line I will possibly continue with is the X-Men from ML (and X-Men Classics), maybe a couple more LOTR figs, and sometimes the Muppets line calls to me too....but I think I'm too late in the game to start with that anyways...great figures though!  Wouldn't mind getting a Rowlf and Fozzie if nothing else though.  Anyways, with all the great stuff coming from SW next year, I doubt I'll buy much else.  Just curious what line would be your choice, outside of our wonderful Star Wars world of course :).

Do any of you experts on this line have any advice of where I could pick up a few of the past figures (for decent prices)?  Or do these figures get pretty pricey once they are off the shelves?  I really don't know too much about the line in general, but wouldn't mind trying to pick up a Rowlf (my fave as a kid), or maybe a Fozzie as well.  I probably shouldn't even start, because then I'll want them all...really enjoyed the Muppet show as a kid...but I didn't know if there was somewhere online to find these figures reasonably, if ebay was the best option, or if you had any other thoughts.  Thanks for any advice you might have.  Also, one other question, I read a rumor of that Backstage playset coming with a "naked" Rowlf...is there any way to get a figure like that (coming with a playset), without getting the playset?  Anyways, thanks again.

I was able to pick up Bail Organa and Janus Greetjatus this past weekend at Target (the only two left from the wave, other than an Ashla/Jempa pack).  I really wish I could have, or will, find the new Obi Wan and the Concept Trooper...both of those figures look great.  Nice to find something new too.  Also saw a couple of the Target A-Wing, but I passed for now, since we were Christmas shopping for family, and had spent enough already that day :).

Is anyone else still following/collecting this line?  I, like many others, have been admiring this line from afar for awhile now, but it is tempting to start picking a few figures up (although I am sure my wife would not be a big fan of that :P).  I did see over at OfftheCard.com that there is another playset coming up, the "backstage" playset, which could really be ultra cool.  You can read about it HERE.  It should be under November 14th news I think.  Just out of curiosity, for those of you who collect these....how tough (or expensive) would it be to pick up some of the past figures (for example, Fozzie and/or Rowlf...my two favorites).  Anyways, I really enjoy reading everyone's opinions of these figures, they really look great from what I have seen.

I'll agree, I'm fans of both Looney Tunes and HB.....and I think both are great.  I always have been a big Scooby Doo fan, and still watch the cartoons when they are on from time to time.  I think that its pretty cool that the show is still popular enough to have a new version on television, and toys in the stores, etc.  I'd have to say Scooby is my favorite of the bunch, but I did really enjoy me some Yogi, Captain Caveman, Dyno-Mutt, Huckleberry Hound, Jetsons, Flinstones, etc.  I always remember there being like a "HB" hour or two on weekend mornings...good times.  I've said it before, but I really think for the most part today's cartoons really pale to what many of us had growing up.  I sometimes feel a little embarassed by it, but I still enjoy me a good cartoon today (but I guess I already collect toys, so what's the difference?)  :P

Other Toy Lines / Which Lines Do You Think "Do the Best"?
« on: November 19, 2003, 03:45 PM »
I got to thinking about this earlier today, and while out shopping, collecting, or just scanning the action figure aisles, which lines do you think are doing well...selling wise?  Including Star Wars, Clone Wars, Turtles, Marvel Legends, Gi Joe, MOTU, LOTR, Muppets, Simpsons, or any other lines you might take a look at.  Do you think there are any lines in particular that really seem to be doing well, or ones that you think are probably on their way out due to sales, etc.?  Personally, I mainly just collect Star Wars, and the X-Men from ML (and I'm also looking for Roboto), but I do take a look at other lines from time to time...there are a lot of great ones.  Just curious as to some of your opinions, thanks!

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: November 19, 2003, 03:29 PM »
Hey, just curious if anyone has had any luck picking up Marvel Legends 5 (if you are looking for them).  I haven't been shopping yet since they started showing up, but I doubt they have made it here quite yet.  Coheteboy has the second part of his review up for ML5 HERE including Colossus, Sabretooth, and Nick Fury.  I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for Colossus.  These figures continue to impress me with each wave :).  Best of luck to those of you searching for them!

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Do You Display Your Figures with all Their "Stuff"?
« on: November 19, 2003, 11:05 AM »
I do agree with that too Lando, I'm definitely not complaining about the amount of accessories...the more the better!  If I had a little more room, I would definitely display a few more as well.  Thanks for the reply, too :).

Saga '02-'04 / Do You Display Your Figures with all Their "Stuff"?
« on: November 19, 2003, 09:46 AM »
Since the beginning of the Saga line, it seems Hasbro has gotten a little more generous with the accessories included with the basic figures.  For those of you who do open them up to display, do you include all the accessories with the figure, or do you just pick what you like to display them with?  Personally, partially because of space, I don't put out all of the accessories with my figures.  A few examples....Yoda Jedi Master....just his lightsaber, no "levitating" base of his cane, but then with the Yoda with Younglings I have him on his chair with his cane only.  Just personal preference I guess.  Also, I dont have the satellite thingy from Padme Pilot out, or the suitcase/box thing from the OPD Anakin, or the removable panels 3PO.  These are just a few examples, but I was wondering if you display your figures with all of their goodies, or just the ones you like.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Clone Wars Wave 3 - Loose Shots at GH
« on: November 18, 2003, 04:41 PM »
Galactic Hunter has just put up a preview of Wave 3 of the Clone Wars figures (regular)...Kit Fisto, Saesee Tinn, and the super articulated Clonetrooper.  Check out all of the pictures here:

Wave 3

Seeing these pictures of the new Clonetrooper, this might be one of the best figures Hasbro has ever made.  I can't see anything wrong with it from the pictures at least, a great figure through and through.

Watto's Junk Yard / Any of You "Work from Home"?
« on: November 17, 2003, 12:18 PM »
I know sometimes with technology these days, many jobs have been allowed to be done from your home.  Recently, the company I work for has given some of us the opportunity to do that if we want to (since our work is done on the computer/through internet).  I was just curious if any of you do that, or have had that opportunity...and what your feelings on it were?
