The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6 Inch Figures?
« on: January 31, 2013, 08:15 AM »
Ok, I have to tap the brakes on my whole "I'm in"....

I abhore painted "flesh" on human characters almost as much as I loathe PT figures.
I realize the pic we have seen is a hand painted clearly a prototype (paint chips near collar and shoulder joint and pins visible in legs), so we will see.

If these come out with painted heads instead of cast, I will look at them like I do so many other 6in figures, and that is just glance at them, pick them up and wish they were better and return them to the shelf.  A modern day "catch and release" kind of deal.

And to clairfy my earlier post, I was not implying that DD was talking down to us, it must have been the mood I was in when I read it.   The numerous times that staff here at JD have interacted with him at Toy Fair or GI JOe Conventions he was as excited by the stuff as we were and even gave Rob some exclusive photo shots before pulling an item off the display.  I assume the fanboy rants are on otheR sites?

If they are really trying to rope the first generation of fans in, the first 12 should be the original 12.

I'm in and if I have to buy online by the case, I am going to really be annoyed with a $20 prequel pegwarmer.  The same reason I quit getting cases earlier this year in the 4in line.

Luke looks great, I am sure the Sandtrooper will be sweet too.

Did anyone else read DD's quote and catch a bit disdain for collectors (who they now cater to)?

If it means OT goodness, I'm in.

If it was focused on the OT, I'd probably be in.  I really liked the Wal Mart exclusive Avengers figures in the 6in scale last summer.  I still picked up the 4in figures, though.

I would rather the resources go this concept than Star Wars Battle Squinkies, Angry Birds, Transformer Cross-overs, Bend Ems, Animated or Prequel crap.

But that is just me.  I don't display my stuff like most of you guys do.  I hide my stuff in a few boxes in the bottom of a closet.

I'm not going again this year (they seem to enjoy having this thing on the weekend closest to my kids' birthdays).

That Night Force Repeater is a thing of beauty though.

Ok Smash, finally got to the box (we have been moving and finally got to that box).  The Stormshadow in that box was  the POC one, not renegades.  I will check with the local guys.  Renegades hit pretty good around here at all the Drug Stores.

These are already on clearance at my WalMart.

They initially had them in the LEGO section.

LEGO / The Lone Ranger

It just got serious up in here........

Anybody who has heard my Star Wars story knows my first love was Cowboys and Cowboy Action figures.... add the Ranger (albeit the non-canon Ranger) and LEGO and I am in Cow-Nerd heaven...

Let me check my extras box.  If my son hasn't raided it, I probably have one.

What's TCW?

Best Figure:  Deleted Scene Luke.  (Can't be Naval Commander, never saw one)
Best Vehicle: Speeder Bike (runner up is the rerelease of the BMFs always good to see OT mega ships on the shelves)
Best Exclusive:  the Disney Build a Droid at Star Traders. (The nearest KMart is 300 miles away, thanks JJ for the hook up)
Best Multi-pack:  TRU Ewoks.

Hopefully the Tony Romo experiment is over here now.  And the Jason Garret and Rob Ryan and Dez Bryant......

(Yes I know Jerry Jones as GM is the real problem, but that won't change any time soon and except for not being smart enough to hire a GM he is a Great Owner)

I keep reading (probably just local writers) say that 20 other teams in the NFL would take Romo over their QB... I can think of maybe 3 (and sadly I'd be willing to take their QB's, so I think it is a matter of perspective.)

I would be up for cutting everyone on the team, firing all the coaches and trainers and starting over.  Jason Witten deserves to play for a winner.

With the playoffs just days away, keeping in mind that I am a 100% rooting jinx, I will cheer for your team's opponent this weekend for Hobbit Figures or Imperial Navy Commanders the price goes up in the 4th Quarter.

Now I can watch Hockey...what channel did they move that to?

You still have an "email group"?  How Retro!!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Christmas Songs that Suck
« on: December 6, 2012, 07:49 AM »
Oh, and the kid getting his mother shoes so she can die.

Your Mom is dying at Christmas?!?! And why is the kid described as "dirty"? Like poor people can't afford soap and water? That's a slap in the face right there.

All my female relative love that song... and I love to get them all riled up by explaining to them how it wasn't some act of kindness, it was totally a guy getting scammed by a kid.  The little kid probably went right back in the store, returned the shoes and hit the corner to buy a dimebag.  The little kid might as well have told that sucker that he was a Nigerian prince who would help the guy get half his fortune while he was at it...

So yeah, next time that song comes on, try imagining that the little kid is totally a scam artist or pickpocket who's working the singer like a rube for a $20 to buy weed.  You'll totally gain a new appreciation for the song...

I pointed out in the car the other night that if she is dead it wouldn't matter if they "fit just fine".  Best 3 hours of silence that didn't involve sitting in a movie.
