Watto's Junk Yard / DVD Profiling
« on: May 24, 2006, 01:12 AM »
Just wondering how some of you DVD nuts display your collection.  I'm up to about 700 now - most of which are in storage.  :-\

Do you display alphabetically, by production company, set/box type, etc?  I find it difficult to incorporate snap cases and box sets in between the normal DVD cases.

Pics would be welcome...

I'd have to mirror what others have said...

Metallica - Metallica
Pearl Jam - Ten
Alice in Chains - SAP
G&R - Illusion 1+2
Nirvana - Nevermind
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Stone Temple Pilots - first CD I ever owned  :)

All have sentimental meanings behind why I chose them, but I still to this day can't listen to certain tracks do to the emotional pain they're linked to.

I'm a carded/boxed collector and I really only set vehicles free from their prison - I always loved the vehicles more so than the figs (TF fan speaking).  Aside from the Hoth wave that I won from JD - I really had no joy in opening the packaging and setting them free.  It just felt so wrong for some reason.  Though I'm really enjoying Veers & Vader for what it's worth.

I've got pretty much every carded figure and boxed vehicle since 95 and the money I waste on storage every month is starting to really ware on me.

I'm not keeping everything carded and boxed for value (at least I hope not)  I've just always had a thing about boxes and what not since I was a kid - empty Nike/Addias shoe boxes - game system boxes.  I think it ended there with my box obsession until I got back into SW.

Gross!!  ;)

B-Wing and the Interceptor are already on Hasbro's list and they should be out soon.

Sweetness!!  Well worth the 15 minute wait on my dial up connection.

I have everything minus the repacked vehicles.  Don't really care to post a list, but I'm sure whoever's reading gets the point.

I'm caught up on everything at this point so I'm hoping the Tat wave holds off for another few weeks or so.

DOOM!  I say  DOOM!  ;)

Hmm.  I Forgot about the 12" Speeders.  They did fairly well except for Leia - at least in my area.  Oh well...I'll keep my thoughts positive and I'll just end up using the DCPI trick when I hear they're starting to hit.  I never really paid attention after I picked up my Tie Fighter, but how many of those did Targets typically have stocked??  2-6 maybe?

Price??  I got raped at FAO for like $130-$140 after shipping so maybe I'm just hoping the $60 price point doesn't hold true so it doesn't hurt my ego.

Okay...Looks like Brent posted before me here.  Sarcasim again, no?

1 per case.  My local TRU is actually stocking these and I found two entire sets on two visits this past week.  Don't worry.  They're starting to hit Targets though the clones should be harder to come by of course.

Anybody feel like throwing up while entering a TRU?  Mine is done in all yellow (for summer perhaps) but it looks absoulutely putrid.

I can't see this happening especially with the issue most retailers have with huge toys in huge boxes that clog up shelf space.  Target would maybe able to stock, what 2-4 at the most at any given time.  I already have the vintage and Saga versions, but I'm a sucker for vehicles - especially repaints.  Maybe it will be painted to go with the Endor deco that the AT-AT will have?

Oh, I also don't think that $59.99 is right if this ship is indeed rumored to be coming out.

Another good transaction with Tony tonight!!  He hooked me up with a Saga Madine.  Last hole I needed to fill for that line!

Many thanks to Jayson for going out of his way to pick me up the newest Titanium giftset!!

Just left Entertainment were they list the vehicles coming for wave 8 and wave 9.
Good news for JediMac-- At least Hasbro must have heard/got tired of his bitching about lack of availability for getting the original 1st 2005 wave Titaniums packaged. Here they are again..the original 4 in upcoming wave 8.

To my delight, I found this wave this morning at Target and they're indeed all still in the original packaging - right up to the overtaped card back.  I was thinking that Hasbro would revert to the new packagaing (tabs tucked inside)
