The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?

They could have renegotiated the terms of the agreement.  So maybe they were losing money and the new agreement changes terms in a way that is more favorable.

I think the phrase "extended agreement" just means there is a continuation of the licensing, but the royalty rate, etc. may have changed.

Probably a lot has changed in the consumer market since the last time they signed an agreement...

Hopefully, but when was the last time anyone went back to charging less for something? 🤔

That is my worry too.   I like the way that BBTS did things.  They undid their price hikes (example: they had put the Landspeeder at $65 but recently revised it back down to $60) and then added a nebulous "excludes tariff surcharge" line.  I'm hoping this means they will be able to hold the line on prices and then just drop the tariff surcharge when they can.

Hasbro Extends Long-Running Strategic Relationship with Disney Consumer Products for Premier Star Wars and Marvel Franchises

"Under the extended agreement, Hasbro will continue to develop a wide range of products for families and fans of all ages, based on the iconic brands. This includes bringing characters from the Star Wars galaxy to life in action figure form through the highly popular lines, The Black Series and The Vintage Collection, as well as engaging new generations of fans with Lightsabers™ toys and other kids’ and preschool toys themed around characters from Darth Vader to The Mandalorian."

I guess all the rumors about Hasbro losing money and wanting out were just click-bait fodder for the youtube trolls...

We should retitle this thread “Recent Vintage Collection Preorders” lol  :D

I went ahead and ordered the 6 TVC figures I want from the upcoming waves via Amazon just to take advantage of that preorder price guarantee. Plus I doubt I will ever see any of those in stores except for maybe GameStop.

Oof. Slightly less than 8% average for my EE pre-orders, but considering the quantity, a solid dinner w/ drinks. Not hating on EE.

Hopefully with Trump's announcement that the tarrifs against China will be lower than previously announced, businesses will be able to walk back some of the proposed increases.

Sadly, I think nearly everyone is going to die.

I have yet to watch it, but that's my thought as well.  The sacrifices and deaths will be a motivator.

Without making this political, the president seems to be giving in a bit for the moment.  Yesterday he walked back comments about wanting to fire Jerome Powell, and said that some tariffs would remain in place on China but far less than we have now.  He seems to be at least slightly aware that this isn’t causing anything but harm, including costing him political capital.

I’m not convinced he’ll feel that way in a week, but at least there seems to be a little bit of movement in the right direction.

If you want to get political we've got the thread in the Sarlaac Pit.

Glad that Trump did tamp down the anti Jerome Powell stuff.  I don't Trump can tie more than two dots together on how macro economics and his behavior and rants can upend the global markets.  He needs some capable cabinet members than can talk him off the ledge and counsel him on these things.  **** is a lot more complicated than he realizes and stability at the Federal Reserve, the bond market, etc. are critical to the entire global economic ecosystem.

I watched them all too and enjoyed them but wasn’t blown away. I feel like maybe I was hoping to see more of a build up to the Sienar heist and could have probably stood less wedding stuff.

I felt the same way.  Good, but not great.  But to be honest that is how I felt about Andor season 1 as I was watching it live.  It wasn't until the whole thing was done that I really felt the genius behind some of the "slower" segments and how it ultimately tied together so perfectly.

I'm going to try and withhold judgement a little bit based on my experience with season 1.

My mild gripes that will probably turn out to be irrelevant when its all said and done:
- I did feel the rebel group on the moon of Yavin seemed a little slow and unnecessary, but maybe they needed Cassian to be tied up (literally) while stuff was happening to Bix and crew.  I think the point they're trying to get across with the Ferrix refugees is that there really isn't anywhere to hide in the whole galaxy, so you might as well fight.
- Not sure I like the Dedra / Cyril relationship, but I'm guessing it will matter somehow later.
- Agreed the wedding stuff seemed a little long, but again I'm guessing this is setting the stage for Mon Mothma's character development, or at least Luthen being "the cleaner".

Sad to see Brasso go, but we really should have put a betting pool together for the over/under on how long all of the characters other than Mon Mothma and Cassian would last.  Sadly, I think nearly everyone is going to die.

Apparently a bunch of CEO’s went to Washington to warn that we were potentially just a few weeks away from empty shelves in the US.
