Monthly Customizing Challenge - Previous Months

Ok... I've had conversations with two different people at www.yakface.com about this.

I'm pretty sure everyone around here likes the folks there.  They have always seems damn nice to me, and were the original place where I joined a forum and met several people (Dimetrodon, LandotheScoundrel, Gatillo, Speedermike and several other really good people back around 1998).

I wish we could get something here on the front page, but I dont' think it's gonna happen.  The people that run this site are the best out there, but it doesn't seem like they have the time to do this, which is fine. 

What does everyone think?  This might not even come to fruition, but with yakface.com doing the "Imperial Idol" they seemed to be up for this.  As soon as I pointed them to the thread we have here, they seemed very upbeat and loved the idea.

The point wouldn't be to take anything away from here or this thread, but it might bring our custom challenge to a larger audience and get a few more people involved in it.

Thoughts?

Oh yeah - we need to finish up with the Sith Lords guys!  If you haven't gotten yours in yet, hopefully you can soon!  And we need to decide fast what month 4 is gonna be!

What about FFURG? This is kind of a casting call. Maybe we should hit up CorranHorn (Jason) to post it ?

I can't find the list of suggestions. Why don't we do droids or customs of us?

I was really kind of hoping to get it on the main page of one of the collecting websites, not just a site that has a niche towards customizing.  I bet there are a lot of people that customize and see sites like this and yakface, but have never heard of FFURG.

FFURG is cool too, but I don't get the feeling that they want to do ideas that aren't their own.  If they will though, then that would be awesome!

One of the things I love about our little contests here is the freedom to do our own made-up characters, something that isn't established.  Stuff that is 100% from our imagination. 

I say we do DROIDS for the next one.  I really have a couple of droid ideas that I'd like to get rolling on.  Maybe two different kinds, an astromech and a protocol droid (but you can't use any 3PO parts).

A little about me: I'm a mod at www.coreplanets.com, I love sw figure collecting (loose completist), customizing (I use 6" scale to get more details), and running my site RollaJedi's Euniverse.  My main focus on customs is the EU.
