Picked up the Rebel Command Center playset last night for a good price on eBay. This was one of the very few playsets I never got as a kid, so I am excited to get my hands on this finally.

Yep, that's the one...no figures included with the one I bought, but I already have them all loose anyway, so no worries. I really just wanted the cardboard backdrop, since I already have an extra snow base, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to find the backdrops by themselves. So you're pretty much forced to shell out for the whole deal.

I still need NINE other playsets, some of my originals did not make it through the years, at least not 100% complete and intact. (Death Star, Star Destroyer, Ewok Village, etc)

This is a good area of focus for me right now because for the most part, they're literally cheaper than the remaining figures and vehicles I have left to acquire.

Rebel Command Center Adventure Set

Wow, that's kind of cool.  I've never even heard of that before.

That was one of those Sears Exclusives back in the day.  I had that in my collection as a kid.  I can't find the backdrop, but I still have the base.
This is the way.

I have spoken.

I picked up a couple of loose upgrade figures of Vader & Leia Bespin at Shane's place back in the begining of the month from his toy score. These figs are cherry, very very tight limbs like they just came off the card. Some frosting on Vader but hopefully laying him in the sunlight when it gets warmer will remove that.

Earlier in the year I found & made a purchase to add to my Ewok Preschool collection, a cut blueprint of the Princess Kneesaa figure.  8)

Yes, this is the actual view & yes it's backwards.  ;D

Here's the flipped view.

Princess Kneesaa as seen on the box flap of the Fire Cart playset.

Well that ends another year of vinty goodness, I hope next year brings more acquisitions to your collection. Keep the posts coming gang, lot's of good stuff being found & added to collections.  8)

Scored Vader's TIE fighter last night for a decent price. I really only needed the wings but I went for the whole thing since the electronics were in 100% working order and that is somewhat rare. That's the last ANH vehicle I needed, except for some replacement TIE parts and maybe an upgrade X-wing. (Mine is shedding stickers badly)

I really am going all out to complete the vintage collection this year, outside of the super-pricey variants at least. As of Jan 1st I have exactly 30 items on my "short-list" to round out my vintage line. (11 figs, 8 vehicles, 9 playsets and 2 mini-rigs) I figure it is realistic to average an item per week (until I get down to the really expensive stuff at least - Yakface, Cloud City, etc) so I am aiming for a September close-out target.

Here's to getting the best of my completism in 2010!

1 a week!  I was doing 1 a month last year (sometimes cheating a little).  This year I won't be doing as much this year as I thought, since I just spent 25% of my vintage budget this year on my holy grail... a vinyl cape Jawa!  Pics to come.   ;D

You just bought a vinyl cape Jawa for $25?  That's one heck of a deal if it's real!

Picked up a minty loose, complete Chief Chirpa over the weekend to replace my worn and loose-limbed childhood version.

Ebay or local?  We still have to get over to that shop up North you mentioned.  Nice addition to the vinty collection Jay!

Yep, it was that local shop again. He's also carrying some nice mint paint variants for some of the figures too, like the rebel soldier, dengar and a few more that I can't remember.

If there was a shop like that here, I would LIVE there.

About how much did the VC Jawa set you back? $300 ballpark or better/worse?

That's an awesome score.
