Group Project XI - The Rykrof Project

Jeff, I've emailed them twice... no reply.  So, looks at least to me that they are no longer in business.

I'm sorry to say that I'll have to sit this one out.   

I had no luck at the Toy Show so I'll just wait for the next one. Sounds like a really fun idea though.

All of the custom Rykrofs look really good, especially what some of you have done with different heads. I was thinking about taking a picture of my Rebel Soldier from Endor, but that would be cheating since it is Hasbros and not mine.    Believe me though, that's the best I can do.

If you can do a boil-n-pop, then you can do just about anything with customizing.  But of course if you don't want to, that's ok too.

well, i never ordered from yestertoys...wanted to wait & see if they were still in business.  i'll just pick up a Rykrof on ebay so i can join in on the project.

Brent i really like your Robo-Rykrof & i can't wait to see what you do with the mutant head/clone gone wrong project...it reminds me of the Ripley clones gone wrong in Alien Resurrection

I would, but I barely have enough money for collecting, so customizing is out of the question. I do have a bag of fodder from figures who broke in some way and I've replaced, but those are my only extra figures I can customize with.

I did some checking, and can officially confirm that Yestertoys is out of business and that their remaining stock has been purchased by another company.

head - SAGA Endor Rebel
torso - GI JOE Classic Saw Viper
biceps - POTJ Imperial Officer
forearms - GI JOE Classic Saw Viper
skirt piece - GI JOE Classic Saw Viper
legs - ROTS Evolutions Maul

I'm happy with the parts selections, but might switch out for better gloves that hold weapons better, and think I should paint the vest.  I didn't do any painting on this figure yet.  It looks pretty good in person, but really the pics look awful.  I think the red torso looks like a blob in the pic, can't figyre out why.  A repaint should take care of the glare at least.  So I'll most likely change this figure over the weekend some.
