I just found this at Irvine Target. $60 is really expensive for this set.

It's a Target Exclusive in the US.  The rest of the world got theirs from various dealers, but the shipping comes out to be the same cost in the US.  The booster is the only way it is available through Targets.  Expect some markdowns after Christmas as Target clearances their shelves.  I did break down and get one at full price so as not to miss out, but would like another if the price goes low enough.  Consider it $20 for the booster and $40 for the set and it's not so bad

WOTC SW minis are amazing, they have evolved in desing, scale and paint job. In some cases we will see the first appearnace of a sw character (EU or movies) on the miniature line, this would caliber his or her definitive launch into a Hasbro 3 3/4 action figure.

Wow, I just read this whole thread from the very beginning.  Fun trip back in time.  It was interesting how soon after the release of the first set the buzz about the Huges and the AT-AT began.  It was also interesting how quickly the thread evolved from excitement about the assortments, dismissal of the game, fears about insane aftermarket prices, and impossible to find chases and trying to complete sets in the shortest amount of time for the least amount of money.  I can see many collectors were turned right off after Universe with the 6 Booster cases and all Faction sets.  For what it is worth the sets are now only 40 pieces and you will get 36/40 from one case, with only 4 VR's missing.

Many people were only interested in OT minis and wanted to steer clear of the EU and PT ones.  Well, for any collectors that were waiting for rock bottom prices here is a check list of what to look for.

As noted on the front page, it is the end of another Star Wars Miniatures line.  Wizards of the Coast announced today that they would not be renewing their Star Wars license and the last expansion set would be released in June.  The fans are planning on keeping the game itself going by redoing the stat cards similar to what fans of the Decipher CCG have done, but that's it for the miniatures.  Look for rock bottom prices on your favourite Star Wars characters over the next year.

I was inspired by the Collect All 92 Feature to match up the vintage run with the corresponding minis.  I was surprised with all the minis Wizards made, that there are so many holes in the list.

Isn't the closer analogy to compare WotC to WEG?

I was just thinking about WEG's minis the other day.  I have a pretty complete collection of them actually, but not quite there.  Don't know if it ever will be.  WotC probably has similar holes to both though, actually, since WEG pretty much knocked out a mini for any vintage figure and then some.

You might have something there Jesse.  Is there a database checklist of the WEG anywhere?  For that matter, how many minis did WEG make?  I wouldn't mind making the comparison.

I'm not sure if there's still a database or not.  You'll have to google it I think, but there used to be.  I forget exactly how many WEG minis now exist...  They of course made oodles of duplicates, but most vintage figures had a WEG mini to match.  There were certain things they didn't do like the Max Rebo Band and Blue Snaggletooth.  They knocked out a ton of stuff though, and made a lot up on their own as well.

I found this list right away, however it unfortunately lists them by pack, while the packs included 3 minis per set.     Not too helpful.  I know I'm missing a couple packs and some of the boxed sets, but not a lot.
