wi-fi help

this is my first time working with wi-fi and I have a question for any of you jd'ers that do...the guy at the store sold me a wireless router...but shouldn't I have a wi-fi connector/finder?

What exactly are you trying to hook up? More than 1 PC to a home network? Or are you doing something else? And what kind of router did you get?

by wi-fi i meant having wireless internet connection if you're near a hotspot....It  turns out I have a built in wifi finder...so now I have an extra wireless router...I guess I could thank him....\
