i can't wait to see who the mavs get with #28.   

i hadn't really thought about it until i read the article, but i doubt i have ever played with a leather ball.  its kinda weird that they hung on to it for so long.

Just to keep this thread going ... the Draft is tonight, and the NBA announced that they'll be using a new ball for the first time in 35 years come next season.

Yet another reason to lose respect for the NBA crybabies.   Havlicek, West, Russell, Chamberlain, Bird, Jabbar, Magic and some dude named Jordan were ok with it.  Few other guys too. 

I'm not opposed to a new ball, but does this mean they'll start calling the carry balls or will it only get worse?

Interesting draft last night.  Some teams made some nice choices, and others continue to look like they don't know what they're doing.  The Blazers were especially busy making a bunch of trades for players they could have easily picked themselves .  I was happy to see Minnesota pick up Randy Foye, who many are saying could be the "Dwyane Wade of this draft".  Hopefully they are right.  Lots of guys drafted on "potential" once again though, which sometimes works - and sometimes doesn't.

I'm still trying to figure out why the Wolves picked Roy at #6 and then had to trade for the guy we wanted - Foye.

Why didn't we just pick Foye at #6 if we wanted him that bad?  Did they do it just to save cash since a #7 gets less money than a #6?   

There must have been some trade or something we were going for, but then it fell through or something.  It's just really strange to me to trade the #6 guy for the #7 guy and not get something more out of it.


And, the sports-talk-radio wanks this morning just will not let the KG trade rumors go.  If they had their way, KG would be off to Chigaco right now for Tyrus Thomas and some other stiffs to even out the cash involved.

now we just have to wait until the season to see who scored and who blew it on the draft.  i kinda thought adam morrison would go 1st and to more of a finess team than portland.  but, then again i don't follow college ball or the euro leagues or high school ball enough to have any idea who most of these guys are.

the mavs got maurice ager.  another guy i have never heard of.  they say he could be a very nice roll player and might get some minutes his first year since he fills a spot nicely as a big 2 guard.

Not really.  I've always hated the Knicks.

And that would be the ONLY reason I'd want Wade to be on the Knicks.  Good point.
