2007 Rumors and Speculation

Sounds great, but also sounds a bit too good to be true as well. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. If true, I'll be buying a hell of a lot of figures next year.

Ah, finally the voice of cynicism.  Thanks.  I think the list is great, but a little too good to be true maybe?  

VTSC Bossk before Death Squad Commander?  Who at Hasbro has the hard-on for Bossk?  Unleashed.  New 3.75" sculpt.  Titanium.  I like bounty hunters too, but what's up with this?  

Also more than a little surprised at the VTSC Endor Leia.  I'm thrilled to get another Leia figure but I don't see that being a strong component of the line.  I'm also a little suspicious about them producing BOTH a cloth and vinyl caped Jawa.  That's almost a bit too much like a collectors dream item and pays a little more homage to vintage than I'd expect out of Hasbro.  One OR the other, but not both.  And listing six VTSC when the most recent line had five figures only?

I like Bossk but the attention he has been getting is a bit troubeling. 

As for the predictions, I do not think the rate is good at all.  However if you can all the times they predicted stuff that was already announced then they have a higher %.

I learned many years ago not to get a hard on based on the other site's predictions.

My thoughts on the basic figures:

Wave 1: ROTS
Mace Windu- May get if new sculpt.
Galactic Marine- May get, hope is well articulated.

Wave 2: ANH
Elis Helrot (Cantina Alien)- Will get.
Jawa/Droid 2-Pack- If the droid is the droid below, it's an easy buy.



EU Stormtrooper (McQuarrie design)- Didn't get it first go round, will buy.

Wave 3: ROTJ
EU Holiday Special Boba Fett- While it's not exactly ROTJ, I love Boba, and I love the Holiday Special, so I'll definitly pick this up. He'll be a moaning bitch to find though.

Wave 4: AOTC
Mace Windu- If one from Wave 1 isn't new, I'll pick this up if this one's new.
Clone Trooper- Definite buy, I need to boost my E2 style Clone Army.
EU Yuuzhan Vong- Yes! An OT EU figure! I'll definitly pick it up, but like the Holiday Special Fett, he'll be a bitch to find.

As for the predictions, I do not think the rate is good at all.

I think that other site much announced and was correct on almost every basic figure wave for this year (The Saga Collection).

I personally do not consider 50 to 75% almost.  Besides by randomness and a little foresight you can guess more than 50% of the figures that came out this year before it started.  Nobody talks about all the times the other site was wrong.  But hey maybe this is the year for some of the vehicles they have been "predicting" for years and years now.

But hey if they are right, then more power to them, their sources and us!

I posted a huge speculation list over at SWAN if anyone cares to read it. But to sum it up, 2007 will rock because of Mace windu, Jedi Luke, and the GM!!

And another thing, since there was no mention of the Infiltrator or V-wing, do you think we might even see those this year? If this has been brought up before, i'm sorry, but I haven't read through this entire thread yet.

I'll believe it when I see it. I want pretty much everything listed, and that's not good for my pocketbook.

Maybe that TV series is taking a little too long, because I don't see any mention of any tie-in stuff.

The Marvel packs sound interesting...  I mean, there are unique looks to the marvel styled images, but they're really not TOO far off.  A lot of it, especially stuff like the RFT for instance, is just color differences...  Like a darker blue shirt instead of the blue-grey colo of the film troopers.

If that's the case...  Blah.

The Holiday and Concept Fett's had me most interested...  I've always loved Fett's various forms, however I preferred the McQuarrie Fett design the best (I think it was) with the poncho on...  They listed Jonston's I think. 

Either way a lot of this does sound fanciful but we'll see what goes at Comic-Con.

I am really excited about the list overall, looks much more exciting than this year. I am most looking forward to:

Han Bespin
Luke Bespin
HS Boba Fett & Johnsan Boba Fett, even if you are not crazy about them they make good Mandalores.
McQuarrie Chewie he is way ugly but really cool!


For me the Bad of the list:

1. Ahh...these little turds are clogging shelves at every store I go to. How can they waste more tooling on this?
2. EU Yuuzhan Vong - Cheese. C'mon they are immune to the force, that alone ruins the SW mythos and what Yoda taught us. plus they destroyed the ilithorian homeworld by Vogging. Lame.
3. Luke Skywalker another Tatooine version - wonderful
4. Darth Vader - Nuff said

With 2 Mace Windus will we at least get 1 new sculpt?
Coins will these be rereleases of the POTF? Better than Holos but the cost of dies cast has increased due to zinc prices. Will they raise the price again?
Will the Marvels be movie accurate? I bet they will be, could be really awesome!
