Nabbed me one too!  $61 after tax and shipping...

Now, if only I could figure out a way to get me one of those Sandtroopers...   :-\

Wow, just 2 days later and I've already gotten my shipping notice on this thing.  Should be here today or tomorrow, since their warehouse is just 45 minutes away.  Cool!   8)

BTW Dave, I had that British site cancel my order that I placed with them.  Did you do the same, or are you sticking with it?

Looks like the Mini-Busts are arriving already!

In fact, DualSaberMaster recieved his today and was kind enough to send along some pics of his bust:

Gentle Giant Chrome Stormtrooper Update

Looks pretty nice!

How did you cancel? I've emailed them like 3 times telling them to cancel my order, and I haven't gotten an answer from them yet. I hope they cancel it, I don't want to spend closer to $100 on one of these, especially since I was able to nab one from SWS.com  :-\

I'm guessing here, but even if they don't cancel Dave, you should be able to make your money back fairly easily on these, especially shipping within the US.

Got mine yesterday as well (since I live right near DSM).  Definitely a spiffy looking Stormie, even if I am growing tired of the Chrome rehashes already...

Thanks again for the pix though, Ricardo!   8)

Still got a lot of catchin' up to do though, I have...

Anything to be on the JD front page! :P  Glad to see my pics were of some use.  Thanks to Matt and Jeff. :)

I'm really digging the Chrome Stormie more and more.  I've noticed at least on mine that the chrome finish has more of a gunmetal color to it.  Maybe, it's the lighting or maybe it's just me. :P

Hi, long time lurker, first time post. My order for the Chrome Stormtrooper should be arriving soon too. I just received my Chewie Statue yesterday and the Sandtrooper on Dewback Statue the day before, so it has been a good week. I don't really care for the other chrome pieces, but this one was too cool to pass up.

Yeah, I guess, but I would rather they not bother sending it to me at all, since I was able to get one from SWS.com and my ebay account is suspended at this moment. And trying to sell it on the forums for whatever it ends up costing me will probably get me labeled as a scalper  :-\

Dave,
I PM'd you my e-mail to Forbidden Planet.  You got it, right?  Keep at 'em and hopefully you can get them to cancel yours too before it's too late.

And trying to sell it on the forums for whatever it ends up costing me will probably get me labeled as a scalper  :-\

I don't think so.  As long as you're selling it for what you PAID for it, then I think you're OK.  Lots of folks seem to do that.  I just did that a few months ago, when I wussed out and bought my first ever case of figures from an e-tailer 'cause I was nervous I'd miss them at retail.  I snagged the ROTJ VOTC case from EE, which came out to about $12.15 per figure.  So when I wound up having no problem finding the same figures at retail later on, I put mine up on the boards (RS) for $12.15 each, specifically noting that that was the price I paid for them from EE, hence I wasn't "scalping" them.  Didn't have any problems, and actually wound up selling most of them.

So if you get stuck with both Chrome Stormies, just sell the more expensive one, and state that it's $xx because that's what you paid for it from FP, and that it's not from SWS.com.  Recouping your actual costs should never be considered "scalping".  It might mean your an impatient dumbass for paying too much to get it in the first place, but not a scalper for selling it for that same amount later on.   :P
