I just looked into this:

Insertion fee ($500US +) = $4.80US
BIN fee = $0.05US
Final value fees ($1,000US +) = 5.25% of the initial $25 = $1.31US
                 plus 2.75% of the initial $25.01 to $1,000.00 = $26.81US
         plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance = $66.37US
Total fee = $71.22

So he spends $71.22 and makes $2500 for a profit of $2428.78.  Not bad for something he pad nadda for.

Unless no one bites on the BIN price (which I doubt). In that case, he spends $71.22 to show the world that he got one, but he's an ass that doesn't want it. I could have told him that for free  :P

I'm actually not surprised someone bought it, it's just another mark of what an insane hobby this is...this guy needs to check out some auctions for Sportscards, Comics and Sportspicks  ::)

Heh.  Well, I'm neither a fool, nor rich.

Plus, I'm married, and plan to stay that way.

So it wasn't me.  My usual max on higher end collectible stuff is about $300, I'd say.  And as avid a completist as I am, and as much as I'd love to own one of these Sandtrooper busts, it just ain't gonna happen.  I can live with that.

My collection will just forever be "incomplete", 'cause aside from what any others may think, I consider this bust a part of GG's overall bust line, whether it was just an ultra-limited Holiday gift, or not.

Hell, I haven't even backtracked to get the regular Fett and Vader yet, so my collection is far from complete as it is (I only got into these just recently).

I'm not surprised to see the thing sell either, to be honest.  I think it's rather disgusting going for that amount, but it ain't my business what those two do with their stuff really.  But I agree with some of the sentiments I've seen elsewhere - if GG had any way of finding out who was selling their "gift" Sandtroopers, I think they should immediately axe them off their "friends" list.   ;)

While the receiver of the gift has the right to do whatever they want with it, if I was the sender, I would certainly think twice before sending them another. So yeah, I agree.

What Gentle Giant Busts would you like to see?

So I was looking at some of my Gentle Giant busts today, and was noticing how odd it is that we got certain characters - like Gammorean Guard, Greedo, and Bossk - but we don't have very many major characters, at least in the Orginal Trilogy yet. I like all the crazy aliens as much as the next guy, if not more. But no Leia, no Han, no Chewie? So I came up with a list of some busts I would love to see GG make soon. And it's not only limited to the OT.
