Question - are people opening up their 5-packs, or leaving them in the box? I saw Simon left his in the box, which does look nice, but I am definitely opening mine to display them with the rest of my loose figs.
Crap, did you have to ask that and bring it up again, Matt?!
I just don't know what I want to do about that. I still haven't opened my Speeder Bike set, but have every intention of eventually doing so. I swear. Seriously. I think. Well, maybe, maybe not. Not sure at all really...
I'm a packaged
and loose collector for the standard Hasbro figures, and various other SW collectibles, but at the smokin' hot prices of these dang Star Wars Kubricks, so far I just haven't had the desire/will/dinero to nab a second set yet, which means I'm too scared to open the ones that I already have. Dammit, I don't want to be like Dale! Really, I don't!
That goes for the carded Kubrick too, or at least the unique ones that haven't otherwise been released prior (Droids figures, Holo Leia). I've been keeping an eye out for damaged ones that I might be able to nab for cheaper and use for my openers, but the only time I ever saw that specified (on a carded Droids R2), the damned thing still went for about $80. Ugh.
I think I'm having deja-vous with this discussion all of the sudden (especially that last paragraph). Daniel, was that you who commented on that same damaged Droids R2 that I had been watching? Can't remember now.
But I think the bottom line is that for now, things will be staying carded and boxed (aside from the regular figures of course), until I figure out what I want to do, or find some cheap openers later on. And with that, here comes my daily migraine (collecting) headache...
God, collecting is hard.
