I`m going to guess the Luke/Vader was in a Vader box.
<never mind the rest of post, crossed signals talking about RAH Vader and Kubbie Vader, doh!>

hey guys,

news for u.. i believe there's a japan/hk variant..

opened a japan master carton..

1st case found 2 luke trooper, 2nd 1 vader/luke, 3rd+4th.. no chases..

no han trooper..

vader 4/12
stormie 4/12
the rest is 1/12

abt luke in which box, i got to check with my friend again.. haha..

i only know the ratios.. :-\

Thanks!

OK, doing some calculations:

Vader = 4:12
   Assuming Luke/Vader is Vader chase: 1:16 x 4:12 = 1:48
Stormtrooper = 4:12
   If Luke Stormtrooper is Stormtrooper chase: 2:16 x 4:12 = 1:24
Luke Bespin = 1:12
   If Luke Stormtrooper is Luke Bespin chase: 2:4 x 1:12 = 1:24
---edit... I guess I should add that since Luke Stormtrooper is only in the Japanese master cases, the ratio should be modified by a factor of 2, which would make it 1:48.
Hoth Han = 1:12
Emperor = 1:12
Nien Nunb = 1:12

In a perfect world, the break down would be something like this:

15:48 Darth Vader
12:48 Stormtrooper
4:48 Emperor
4:48 Hoth Han
4:48 Bespin Luke
4:48 Nien Nunb
2:48 Stormtrooper Han
2:48 Stormtrooper Luke
1:48 Darth Vader (Dagobah Cave)

That way, I can get everything in one Master Case and be done...  ;)

Jeff

Pretty close Jeff!

Unfortunately, it looks like a master case will only get you one of those Stormtrooper variants.  The nice thing is you'll get 2 of them, so trading one for the other here should be fairly easy (assuming the Hong Kong Han Stormtrooper is also 2:48).

Crap, that was what I was starting to fear. This just makes it hard when 4 people are in on a Master Case.  :-\

HLJ should be mentioning that there Kuby's are instock soon, only problem is it's going to be the end of the month or early next month till I see my shipment.

How come so long? Customs take that long with them? blech!  :-X

Yeah, splitting the case will be rough. 3 of us go in on them.
Last series, we rolled dice, highest picked a box first , then 2nd and 3rd.
This one, whoever gets the Vader chase, the other two get the Luke
Stormy (assuming we get a Jap case & not a HK case).
Either way, there might be 2 chases I have to buy when all is said and done.
I did order extra for myself for trading, so maybe I`ll get lucky and pull
a chase (crossing my fingers)

Yep, customs takes forever plus waiting for the order. With Series 2, HLJ processed my order on Nov 1st then shipped on Nov 2nd. It was sitting in customs pending clearence on Nov 6th and on Nov 12th I received my order.

So that was 11 days waiting plus HLJ marks the shippment as merchandise so I get hit with all the customs fees. So yeah, end of the month or there abouts.

OUCH! How much are customs fees?
Whenever I send to Canada, I usually mark gift and a nominal price, but
I`m not a big business.

With HLJ being a business (distributor), I guess they have to label the customs form as merchandise. As for customs fees, they take the value and convert it to Canadian then add 7% GST plus a $5. fee for the paper work. I think Brent pays 7% GST plus 7% PST and the $5. I think Jesse is in the same boat as me?

If something was small like a few action figures, I usually get whomever to label the parcel as a gift and mark the value really low. We are allowed up to $20. and anything else over that, we're nailed.  >:(

Nope, same boat as Brent.   :'(

14% of $400?  Not pretty.

Nope, Jesse's more like me.  He has either two taxes, the GST at 7% and the PST at either 7 or 8 % or just something called the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) at 15% but I think that's more of an Eastern Canada thing.  Dale's the only one (ALberta) that pays only 7%.

Basically Canada is tax mad, scraping every damn cent it can in every possible way.  It's really quite maddening to get hit with additional fees that way.

Like Dale, I tend to ask anyone I trade with and most ebayers to mark a lower value, usually below $50 depending on the size of the package which can get it through.  Very occasionally someone says no on a moral basis and that's fine by me, it's their conscience they have to live with, not me.

Retailers like HLJ, BBTS, etc. don't want any trouble, so they all mark it merchandise.  An occasional retailer will cut a break and one I used to deal with did it all the time, but he became rather unreliable.

I did luck out with BBTS on the Series 2 set with Indy as it was $185 and that's how it was marked, but it looked like $18.5 so customs let that one go through unscathed.

Customs also charges a flat $5 fee for each package it stops ::)

Ugh, that sucks guys!
Does customs inspect packages a lot?
I`ve sent a few to Canada and other places, about 1/2 the time they get
held and opened. Once it took over a month for something to get to Australia,
it was in customs for over 3 weeks. It was just a SW mini I had traded, so
it`s not like it was a huge box or anything.

Yep it sucks.  >:(

It all depends on I guess who is working customs, in the last month or so I have only had 1 parcel opened by them out of around 25... knock on wood.  ;D

Sometimes I get nailed with fees on higher priced items and other time lower priced items, hit and miss.

Well, I just heard back from my Kubrick Source...

I was quoted a price of $440 plus shipping for a Master Case of Series 4! ::)

It seems like pretty much even seller is uber-greedy this time around with Vader being involved.   :-\  I guess I won't be using him again for my Series 4... >:(

It's off to plan B to try to get a Master Case...  ;)
