2007 Medicom Collectors Box Set

Thanks for the replies guys. I was just basically wondering if I should go ahead and pre-order from BBTS or if I would end up being able to get it for half the price on Ebay. I'm torn, but think I'll have to order it since I really want this set. What is the actual retail price of the set from Medicom, shipping included, in US dollars?

6090 Yen = about $50.95 US. Based on the auction I posted above, shipping on that one was $17. US.

When you guus purchase the Kubricks from over sea's, how long does it typically take to get to you?

It really depends on how much you want to spend on shipping. I usually go with EMS which is very quick but can get very enpensive.

And yeah, those are steep. I wonder if they'll come down like the last few box sets. I'm guessing not as much, as they're not from TRU. But who knows?

This is pretty much what I paid for mine from my friend in Japan.  I had to cover the retail cost, the shipping within Japan and then shipping over here.  Mine might be here by the end of this week  Those auctions Jay posted are high, so if you can handle waiting, I think it wise.  

It's the usual early rush on ebay, so even waiting a month will probably save you $20 or more and it'll drop to around $60 in time maybe?  Ok, maybe not that low with the $51 retail price but you never know.  What I have no clue on (amongst other things) is whether Medicom takes orders and then makes a certain amount based on pre-orders or whether they have a set production run regardless of orders.  If they do the latter and it didn't sell that well, then prices will drop.  If it's the former, not so much price droppage.  

Just happy mines on the way and here's hoping the snowtrooper appears in series 8 as well

Wow, me too, glad I got my order in. I must have been one of the last ones. That will be quite a bummer if they don't deliver on the preorders.

My total cost was $85.80

That's retail
Shipping within Japan
Shipping to the USA
and any Paypal fees or bank transfer fees on the part of my friend.

Not as good as BBTS, but then again, no exclusive was ever up for presale by a major retailer before so I was leary when it came to ordering from them.

BUT still better than ebay, so I'm happy.

If Japan retail was around $51 and then they have to pay to ship them to the USA from Japan, how are they making any money at $60? 

It doesn't make sense for them to sell them at basically their cost like that.  There is no way that they could have ordered them directly through Medicom any cheaper, that is something that has never happened before and it would be a huge violation of Medicom's agreement with LFL if Medicom sold to a USA merchant directly... 

I just don't get it I guess.

I don't get it either.
But I think Medicom did make these available to some retailers for whatever reason.
It just didn't make sense at the time (still doesn't) so I didn't order from them.

Got my box set today!
My friend wrapped up the actual box Medicom uses and shipped it outm very cool.
Gotta say the Yoda/Luke is one of the best Bricks ever!

I'm going to trade the 2-1B and B-wing Pilot if anyone is interested.
I'm after a Yoda or just LMK what you got.
