Here's a simple, yet infrequent, pleasure:
I went into an electronics store the other day, in my continued search for a nice 19" monitor. I had narrowed it down to a particular Sony model, but just as I was about to purchase it, a new Sony monitor hit the market, with some slightly better technology (Xbrite), though some slightly less specs in other areas. So I just wanted to pick some folks brains in the Computer sections at Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, and Frye's. Of everyone I spoke to, nobody knew jack **** about those monitors, or monitors in general. I had to correct them all, since they were talkin' outta their asses.
But then - my simple pleasure - an electronics employee who ACTUALLY KNEW stuff, was informative, helpful, etc. Nearly blew my mind, and made the whole process so much easier, since I could really tell this guy knew his **** (even moreso than my comprehensive research on the matter), and really felt strongly about one monitor over the other, essentially helping me to make my decision since he seemed so knowledgeabel, sincere, and honest.
Refreshing.
Wish there were a lot more employees like that out there!
