So it's official, Celebration V will be in Orlando, Florida.

Star Wars Celebration V - Aug. 12-15, 2010 Orange County Convention Center

Star Wars Celebration V will take place August 12 - 15, 2010, commemorating the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, celebrating the continuing televised adventures of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and looking forward to exciting new Star Wars projects to come.

Ticketing, pricing, and exhibitor information follows:

Tickets will be available starting Thursday, Dec. 10th via www.starwarscelebration.com. Pre-sale Adult Four-Day Passes are $120; Kids Four-Day Passes are $50; pre-sale Thursday, Friday, and Sunday Passes are $45; Saturday Passes are $50; and Kids One-Day Passes are $25. Children under six years old are admitted free.

Limited VIP Packages are expected to be available in early 2010, with details to be announced on the website. Single or Four-Day Passes already purchased can be upgraded to VIP status as long as supplies last!

Special hotel rates and other travel information will be announced on the website.

Probably not...     If it's not reasonable driving distance I'm not likely to attend.  I probably can't justify the airfare and stuff.  I've got to look into flight options first, but I'm not hopeful at this point.  Not my personal favorite option...  I've been to Orlando and besides Disney World (which is sort of self-contained) I just didn't care for it down there.

I missed out on a trip to Vegas this year and my wife told me that I could end up going to this as a consolation prize...  Now it's a matter of whether or not I have to bring my sons with me or not.  It would be nice to go to this and not have to worry about them as well, but at the same time I really want them to experience this.  Looks like I have one more week to decide before I figure out whether I'm buying 2 kids 4-day passes to go along with mine...

Boy, August in Orlando is going to make it really difficult to be in full Darth Maul tatooine attire.  However, I'm sure it's still cooler than they dealt with during filming.  Anyone know how to get a Force FX lightsaber through security at the airport?!

Yeah, Orlando heat in August may be a little tough.  But with Disney World being down the road (I've been Google Mapping), it would add a lot for my little ones to do.  This would be a fun chance to introduce my kids to the SW fandom experience.

Holy ****balls.  I just looked into flights from Kelowna (western Canada) to Orlando and round trip for our family of 4 is over $4500.    Kinda sucks when you're trying to fly from one corner of the continent to the other.  I guess I'll be watching for seat sales.
