I found Hawk, Bazooka, and Barbecue at the local WM yesterday, but they hadn't jacked the prices up to 7.50 yet, thankfully.  Absolutely no sign of the BAT or the Snow Serpent, but they had at least 10 each of the Wild Bill and Torpedo recards (with the white logo), so apparently someone decided to army build right out the gate.  I only hope those two are as easy to find as the Viper has been.

That Hawk is a real good figure.  This wave is really a winner all the way through..I don't even "HATE" the Ninju-Ku (he is my least fav in the wave, but I'll take International Variants, if they will do them)

I got a case at the Con, I was able to sell the Wild Bill and Torpedo at out booth/table.

No Vehicles in today's search...

Found the newest wave at Target tonight.  The whole wave looks really well done.  Nice paint jobs all around, the details on them are nice as well.

I only bought Hawk which I think was the best of the lot.  I wish we'd known this figure was coming earlier, I'd have passed on the comic pack.  Hawk was the only reason I bought that one but this blows that out of the water.

At $7.99 each I didn't really feel that I needed the rest of them.  Bazooka and the Snow Serpent were the most tempting.

The other camera has better shots, but Alyosha has it, so it is up to him to post the goods.

There's some good looking stuff in there.  The Battle Pack with Snake, Bludd, CC and Quick Kick is a loser but do we need that for our MASS Device?  If so, ****.

The other set with Serpentor, skeleton and B.A.T. and Dusty rocks, though.  The Rattler looks good as do the Firefly vs Green Shirts (DUKE ARMS!!!!) and Crimson Guard sets.

Yeah, definitely some nice stuff in there.  I've avoided vehicles with the Joes (just don't have room for them), but seeing some of the jets/aircraft makes it awfully tempting.  I always wanted things like the Conquest, Skystriker, and Rattler when I was a kid - so it makes it more difficult to pass on things like that.

Ya I've been biting off not buying some the vintage vehicles on eBay since this line started in hopes that Hasbro gets around to more of them so I welcome the Conquest and Rattler with open arms.  :)   Probably going to get several of each.

Regarding the new photos - everything looks great for the most part, but what's up with the new Serpentor?  I think he still looks like **** even though they fixed his head.  I just don't like the sculpt they used for his body.

The artwork for the ParaViper is pretty slick.  And the figure kicks all kind of ass.

What I like about the DVD Cobra Commander is that he has 2 usable hands instead of one fist.   And the Hood is hanging naturally and not "swishing" like the other ones.

The ParaViper was all kinds of cool at the Con... I was really impressed with the artwork on the new (never released before) figures.  Makes me hope they actually do the book of card art that someone asked them about in the QnA...for the record the answer was "We'll have to look into that, nothing is currently planned"...

Unlike the answer when the gentleman asked them why there was no cultural diversity in the Firefly vs. Greenshirts pack when previous TRU greenshirts were ethnically diverse....the answer then was and I'm paraphrasing here..."........well....um.....you see....who wants to watch the Video again?"

I was wondering what the answer to the diversity of the GS set was.  They were talking about it over on the club board but I don't think anybody actually told what Hasbro's answer was.  The guy that asked the question goes by KingofPain on the boards over there...I think his name is RaShawn.

It's a legit question though.  I guess the budget answer is they didn't have a headsculpt, that would take a helmet, that was generic enough and they didn't want to sculpt a new one.  But they could at least have taken a Hawk, Duke or Flash head and gone with a Hispanic look at least.

Not to get into a whole racial debate but that was a missed chance for Hasbro to do something like that rather than wait for a named character that's not a white male.  About the same time that the previous Green Shirt set was out they did the Cobra Infantry set and they included a black trooper.  So it's not like Hasbro has no track record of doing diverse figures...it's just not the current team, apparently.

They actually answered it, but it was like you said, they were not in the tooling plan for this one, but promised more diversity in future generic packs.  It was just funny that KingofPain who is ethnically diverse himself, asked the question and got the dumbfounded looks from the crew.  They pointed out that one of the Desert Cobra's is in fact "diverse" and that they look for every opportunity to add a mix into each generic figure available and in the future would have more time to commit to proper representation.  It was just funny that they all looked at each other, shrugged and then forced the newest team member to answer the question.

They seemed sincere in their response, it was the Deer in the Headlights look before the answer that was classic.

A few of us were joking with KingofPain afterwards... he said he would wait till they got the sculpts all fixed (crothes and arms) before he got upset about it and that he asked it jokingly.

Got my Wave 9 set from BBTS today and wowza what a great set of 6 figures across the board this one is.  Two of my favorite Joes growing up were Bazooka and Hawk and these 25th Anniv versions are phenomenal.  The BAT was also at the tail end of my run in the vintage line and this new one is great!  I also really dig the Snow Serpent and BBQ.  And while the black Storm SHadow really does nothing for me its not a bad figure and rounds out pretty much a perfect wave!

I don't know how many waves back I'm behind.  I haven't seen anything new since the one time I saw a Torpedo and a Rock N Roll.

HOLY ****!!!

Snow Sepent and B.A.T. are now my favorite Joe figures.  They're FANTASIC!!!  I'm going to town on these when/if Target/WM decides to restock them.  Footloose was a fav of mine as a kid and he's obviously bulked up so hopefully we'll get Slaughter and Fridge to go along with him.
