SPOILERS so don't read.

R.H.I.N.O. is referred to but not in the movie

Actually, I think the vehicles used at the beginning of the film were the R.H.I.N.O. trucks that Duke referred to, they just look nothing like the vehicle we got as it's a re-pack of a cartoon (comic?) based vehicle.

Aaaaack.  Picked up the Night Raven on the way home at TRU.  $10 giftcard with any $30 purchase + adding points to my rewards card.  Couldn't resist.  They also have the 2 for $10 thing again on figs, but I'm not biting.

Target is also having a sale on Joe figures.  I think they were $6.54 or someting, they were more than $1 off, I know that.  The R.H.I.N.O.exclusive is on sale as well.  It didn't look like everything was marked down, but some stuff was.

I'm almost tempted to get one of the 12" Storm Shadow figures just for the outfit but I'm not paying over $20 for one.  I'd also like to get the R.H.I.N.O. and Night Raven but I don't think I want to spend $40 each on them...don't need that that badly.

The Cobra Gunship in the film was much larger than the vehicle we got, too bad they didn't make it closer to the film version.  Plus, I still think that looks like it would make a good vehicle for some Star Wars Bounty Hunters or something.

They're on sale for $6.49.
Around here, most Targets still have the figures selling for $6.99, so though the sale price is nice, it isn't as impressive as it could be.
I have a Target coupon for $2 off any Joe figure.  I'd like to use it during the sale, but I'm not sure who to pick up.
Any recommendations?  So far, I have Storm Shadow, Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes, and Destro.

I really love the Ice Viper.  The Pit Commando is a great figure also, has a ton of accessories.

I've only picked up a handful of the movie figs so far, but the sales this week makes it tempting to grab a few more.  I've sort of thought about picking up the characters that actually appear in the movie, then adding to them if/when a sequel is released.  I should probably wait and actually see the movie first though :).  I will say, I like all of the figures I've picked up so far though.  Might also grab a couple of the vehicles, since they can fit in with the 25th stuff well enough too.  Might try to get the Dragonhawk, since I was a fan of the Dragonfly as a kid.

I picked up Cobra Commander and Ripcord with TRU's sale this weekend. CC looks pretty great on display, but I think the Ripcord/Accelerator suit mold is missing some armament that was present in the flick. But it's still a neat-looking mold. Now I just need to pick up Cover Girl, pajama Scarlett, one of the Heavy Duties, and Breaker to have a complete movie Joe team.

No sign of black timber anymore.  I think that was a variant like the 2007 version.

My closest Wal Mart just now put out the figures.  2 whole Pegs.  (They have more than that for the Marvel Universe stuff)

The Snake Eyes there had the Grey Wolf.

They picked a great time to launch, I picked up 2 Ice Vipers with the 2 for $9.99 ad from TRU...   I guess the Wal Mart business machine is not as well oiled as once thought.

I will miss the Con this year, should be fun though, I think there are enough Joe guys from this part of the world that are going, maybe I can find the Snow Snake Eyes army that I need.

That is sort of what I'm thinking about doing at this point too, just finishing out the "movie" Joes/Cobra and call it a day on the movie stuff.  I'll be interested to see what will be going on with the 25th anniversary style stuff (sounds like maybe it will continue in the movie line), but otherwise I might be taking a bit of a break from the Joes.  I was looking at the shelf of 25th stuff (and trying to find room for a few recent pickups), and it really has been a nice run of Joes I think.

Down here in Kansas City.  I've been buying all kind s of GI Joe stuff leading up to the convention.  Bought 2 GI Joe shirts at the mall.  Picked up 2 of the ROC Firefly figures at TRU.  I wish these were always 2 for 9.99.  I also picked up the new issue of GI Joe and GI Joe: Helix.  Now I'm just waiting for pre-registration tonight at 8:30pm at the Crown Center Hyatt.

So, now that the movie has been out for a week, has anyone noticed a lot of sales for the Joe movie stuff?  It seems to be selling ok here locally, the vehicles in particular seem to be selling through nicely.  The figures are stocked so full everywhere, it gets a little difficult to tell what's selling.  I don't think that too much of anything (figure wise) is difficult to find though, so it seems like case packs must have been good.  Anyways, just wondering how the toyline has done.

Picked up my Crimson Strike boxed set at the convention last night.  Still haven't looked at any of the figures.  I was more impressed by the Argen FANG Gyrocopter that was free when picking set up in person.

The convention comic/brochure is also very cool and has a great story.

Today we get to buy.

Jump 2-Pack with Starduster and Sgt Manleh 650

International 3-Pack with Redmack,Topson and Schimik. 650

Gyrocopter with Blades. 500

Crimson Command Copter 400

I think the 12" Crimson Guard para drop figure is excellent but I'm kind of disappointed that there aren't any other 12" souvenirs this year.  Other years the para drop figures have been Sigma 6 or 3.75" figures but that didn't really impact the extra items in the smaller scale.  I think last year the only bonus 12" item was a pack of rifles.  They do offer a 1:6 scale convention jacket for the first 100 people to order the 1:6 set, still, I would liked to have seen more offered.

I like the 25th style figures well enough, I sure bought a bunch, but this year's offerings don't really draw me in.  I thought last year's set was brilliant, though.  Maybe part of it is that they've basically just duplicated a previous boxed set?  Not sure.  Last year I actually went to eBay for the 3-pack and if I could have found Bullhorn and the R.T.V. for a better price I would have picked them up as well.

If the Club has Crimson Guard paradrop figures, and the weapon set, in the store after the convention I may order them but I'm not going out of my way to track them down.  I passed on the Eight Legs of Danger set also.  I had the paperwork all filled out on the final day of pre-registration but didn't FAX it.  I think they waited too long to get good photos of the set on-line.  I didn't want to pre-order it without seeing more of it and in the end, didn't feel like there was quite enough new stuff there to warrant the $300 price tag.  Even the lack of a second figure offering was kind of a letdown.  There was nothing that had the wow factor of last year's tent or the extra figure from previous years.

It's looking more and more like the 12" line is being phased out and the con geared towards the RAH collectors.  Smart move if that's where the attendance and cash is coming from, but the Club is really the last resort for most of the cool 12" Joe product right now.

Uploading pictures from Thursday night Club Store now. Very expensive evening. Limit of 2 of each International pack so the 650 2-Packs, 650 3-Packs and 500 Gyrocopter/Blades aren't going to last long. Everyone is buying 2 as far as I could tell.

Took pictures of file cards, price sheet, displays, lines and also 2 videos coming.
