I think the 12" Crimson Guard para drop figure is excellent but I'm kind of disappointed that there aren't any other 12" souvenirs this year. Other years the para drop figures have been Sigma 6 or 3.75" figures but that didn't really impact the extra items in the smaller scale. I think last year the only bonus 12" item was a pack of rifles. They do offer a 1:6 scale convention jacket for the first 100 people to order the 1:6 set, still, I would liked to have seen more offered.
I like the 25th style figures well enough, I sure bought a bunch, but this year's offerings don't really draw me in. I thought last year's set was brilliant, though. Maybe part of it is that they've basically just duplicated a previous boxed set? Not sure. Last year I actually went to eBay for the 3-pack and if I could have found Bullhorn and the R.T.V. for a better price I would have picked them up as well.
If the Club has Crimson Guard paradrop figures, and the weapon set, in the store after the convention I may order them but I'm not going out of my way to track them down. I passed on the Eight Legs of Danger set also. I had the paperwork all filled out on the final day of pre-registration but didn't FAX it. I think they waited too long to get good photos of the set on-line. I didn't want to pre-order it without seeing more of it and in the end, didn't feel like there was quite enough new stuff there to warrant the $300 price tag. Even the lack of a second figure offering was kind of a letdown. There was nothing that had the wow factor of last year's tent or the extra figure from previous years.
It's looking more and more like the 12" line is being phased out and the con geared towards the RAH collectors. Smart move if that's where the attendance and cash is coming from, but the Club is really the last resort for most of the cool 12" Joe product right now.
