I decided I'd give that crazy ML Showdown line a try by picking up the Punisher.

Overall, I think it's pretty neat (if you find one with a paint job that doesn't suck) and he fits in well with GI Joes and SW figures, should you decide to display him with those.

He hold Joe and SW weapons well too, which is what I was hoping. I wish TB would just drop the stupid game idea and offer these as just figures at a much cheaper price.

ML13 preorders at Amazon.

The variants are up there too. I'm thinking about the unmasked Green Goblin.

I'll take the chance and pre-order the variants, not ever expecting to get them. Has anyone ever gotten variants from them?

I tried to order a Dark Phoenix from them once, an item that showed as in stock, and, of course, I didn't get it.

Luck's been pretty miserable with them for that stuff.  I have three Scarlet Witch on order from back in December that haven't shipped yet.  Same deal with Phoenix as Ben, ordered, in stock, nada.  I also have the previous series' variants on order.

Let's just say I'm not holding my breath.

With the future of Marvel Legends somewhat hazy beyond this year, what are your feelings on the line (or brand) in general?  With Hasbro obtaining the rights, we could see a switch to an entirely different line...or maybe the current line will continue and just have "Hasbro" on the packaging.  I'm not entirely clear with what is happening in this deal, and it seems like there are a lot of differing opinions online.  As much as I like the Legends line, when I think about the need to scale back my collecting, I don't know that there are a lot more figures I really need to have in this line.  How do some of you feel?  Is there a lot more that you want to see, or some figures that "must be done" before the line is over?  Are some of you feeling the last few waves haven't been quite as exciting, or that maybe the BAF are the most exciting part?  From what is rumored/announced for this year, there are a few more things I'd like to pick up, but not as much as past years from what I can see.  I was just curious as to your opinions on this line's future, what you'd like to see, or if you've seen almost enough maybe.  If Hasbro were to restart the line, maybe even in a different scale, would you buy in?  Is your Legends collection complete enough on its own?  What do you see in the future of Marvel figures (or what would you like to see)?

I'm pretty happy, for the most part, with what is either out or coming.  There are a few figures I want that will never see the light of day and a few I'm concerned about the execution on as well, but there aren't many left for me.

I might be one of the few, but a change in scale would be great.  Sadly that's because I'd outright drop the line if they did it.  No way am I going back in again to get all sorts of figures.  The ML line is, as a rule, extremely well done.  Yeah, some of the joints are a bit loose at times and some of the sculpts a bit weak.  Generally though I'm happy with the execution.

The BAF or what seems to be build a vehicle down the line is a neat idea, but I can't think of too many more things to build.  It sure adds value to the line, but also detracts because I may not want an X-23 or Black Panther, but sure enough I buy them.  That's a detraction to me, obviously not to the manufacturer.

There's quite a few X-figures missing yet - classic X-men, Uncanny X-men or X-Factor figures I'd like to see yet (sorry Scott).  I'd also have liked a box set with Spiderman supporting characters - Mary Jane, Gwen Stacy, Robbie Robertson, JJJ, Aunt May and a regular, non-transformable Peter - but that won't happen I don't think.  I sure don't see it happening with Hasbro at the helm, given they're it's for the kids mantra :-\  And that Kingpin from the two pack better be well done.  I know I'll buy it regardless but still.  One thing ToyBiz seemed ok at, even though it was annoying, was re-releasing figures and doing them better the second time around - Green Goblin would be a prime example.  I understand the different artist takes on a character, but these are classics aren't they?

I'll be ok when it ends.  The scale is large (as I've said before I'd have preferred the 3 3/4" line) now and space consuming.  A smaller line similar to the Saga line with similar packaging and articulation plus pricing could prove tempting, largely because I could easily fit them in somewhere.  But I will try to resist. They have done justice to a large number of figures/characters I really enjoy.

I really like your Spidey box set idea.  I'd really like to see a Mary Jane, Robbie, JJJ, Aunt May and regular Peter for sure.  Like you said, doubtful it would happen, but it would be nice.  I've got high hopes for the Kingpin in the two pack as well.  I saw a report from someone who saw the two packs at the Canadian Toy Fair (on the adc or fwoosh boards I believe) who described Kingpin as being in his "white jacket" and the Daredevil included having a variant "maskless" version.  I'm hoping we'll see/know more at Toy Fair in a couple of weeks.  Aside from that, I think I'm mainly focusing on Spidey and his villains/world from here on out, as well as X-Men figures from the Legends line of the characters I remember reading while growing up (or currently).  There's a few others here and there that interest me too that have been rumored (Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, Moon Knight, etc.), but I'll mainly stick to Spidey/X-Men for the most part.  There's also some that I missed the first time that I'd still like to pick up eventually (Iron Man, Dr. Doom, etc.), and we'll see how that goes.  The 3 3/4" scale line would be tempting to me too, and SuperHero Showdown (or now, Marvel Legends Showdown) has been because of that reason as well.  If I didn't already have so many in the 6" scale, I might have gotten into it further.  It will be interesting to see what the future of the line will bring, but overall, I'd say I'm pretty satisfied with my collection...but wouldn't mind seeing a few more figures like those mentioned here.

If Hasbro changes the scale, I'm done.

It really makes me uneasy with this line in Hasbro's hands. I'm not one to be paranoid at the drop of a hat, but due to the recent changes Hasbro has made lately to some of their other lines, I'm nervous to say the least.  :-\

If Hasbro changes the scale, i will drop the line. I don't have the energy, the urge, or the room to support another restocking of characters i already have in a different scale.

I saw this pic of the "Mojo Series" posted elsewhere, and thought I'd post it here as well.  Not actual "figure" pictures, but an idea of how the wave might look anyways.  Looks like we're getting "X-babies" (and others) with the figures...

1st Appearance Daredevil
Baron Zemo
Longshot
Luke Cage
Falcon
Psylocke
BAF Mojo

At this point, I'll probably only pick up Psylocke and maybe Luke Cage from this wave.  I'm not sure about the rest yet, some are tempting, but I'll have to wait and see.
