Looking Back at the Past Fan Choice Polls
« on: August 23, 2013, 04:11 PM »
Because I love checking back on Hasbro to see how much they really listen to us.  Here are the results of the past three Fan Choice Polls and the current figure tallies from each (unless I forgot about a figure  :-\).

- 2006 Toy Fare Fan Choice Poll = 23 out of 25 made into figures; 92%
- 2009 Toy Fare Fan Choice Poll = 11 out of 30 made into figures; 37%
- 2011 Hasbro Fan Choice Poll = 5 out of 20 made into figures; 25%

Who’s left?  Glad you asked.  I’ve compiled the list of left-overs into one easy to reference/discuss list.  The # in parens is the polls they appeared.

Anakin Solo (2006)
Cane Adiss (2009)
Captain/Admiral Pellaeon (2009, 2011)
Captain/Admiral Piett (2011)
Cliegg Lars (2009, 2011)
Corde (2009)
Darth Caedus (2009)
Dash Rendar (2009)
Vintage-deco Death Squad Commander (2011)
Dorme (2009)
RotJ Emperor Palpatine w/throne) (2011)
Guri (2009, 2011)
Jaxxon (2009, 2011)
Joruus C’Baoth (2009, 2011)
Kittster and Wald (2009)
Mosep Bineed (2011)
RotS Nute Gunray (2011)
RotS Funeral Padme Amidala (2006)
Queen Apailana (2009)
Queen Jamilla (2009)
Sergeant Doallyn (2009, 2011)
Sim Aloo (2009, 2011)
Taym Dren-Garen (2009)
Tey How (2009)
Toryn Farr (2009, 2011)
Tzivvzt (2009, 2011)
Yak Face (2011)

The results of that 2009 poll were more than dubious.  The amount of rigging and vote stuffing that happened at each site's forums was sickening.  We never did get the rankings of the 2011 poll which is weird....someone should bug Hasbro about that

If you take the figures that were on the 09 and 11 lists:

Captain/Admiral Pellaeon (2009, 2011)
Cliegg Lars (2009, 2011)
Guri (2009, 2011)
Jaxxon (2009, 2011)
Joruus C’Baoth (2009, 2011)
Sergeant Doallyn (2009, 2011)
Sim Aloo (2009, 2011)
Toryn Farr (2009, 2011)
Tzivvzt (2009, 2011)

I'd probably buy all of them...a lot of those have been long wished for on the JD Wishlists too.

I also think the chance of a Padme Funeral figure is around 0%...which leaves just Anakin Solo as a possibility there

You are probably right, Scott, but she would be ideal for Hasbro's new stance on limited articulation.  :P

I'd buy all those too...  It's funny how they've seemingly abandoned polls.  But yes the ballot stuffing was out of hand.  I think hasbro knew it too.  Fans seem to have a knack for ruining their own hobby.

You missed one in your "not yet" list: Mara Jade Skywalker. :P

And technically Corran Horn too since it was a vote for his Jedi appearance not pilot.

From the original five polls all that is left is the Twi'lek Masseuse (#3) and Nym (#4).

Nym is a weird one...he popped up really out of nowhere and NOBODY has ever asked for him again

I have. But unless they make Starfighter 3 or bring back comic packs all the rest have a better chance of being made than him... Except maybe Funeral Padme.

Nym was totally a product of the time.   And it was specifically because of the Starfighter game.  If that game had the legs of a KOTOR or one of the other more popular Star Wars games, I could see Nym enduring as a perrenial candidate.  But I'm perfectly fine without a Captain Nym action figure.

I've heard rumors of a mystical "last wave" of comic packs.

When did we get an Exar Kun figure?

It was part of that exclusive wave of comic 2-packs that wound up at Entertainment Earth.  Exar Kun was packed with Ulic Qel Droma.

Just looked the comic packs up... I literally don't remember ANY of those. My stores stopped stocking them after that terrible Marvel Purple Dengar wave

No, it was the last non exclusive wave. Although for most people it was an absurdly overpriced eBay exclusive.

Since the 2015 Black Series line is set, I thought I'd take one last "Pre-TFA" look at the unmade fan poll figures...

- 2006 Toy Fare Fan Choice Poll = 23 out of 25 made into figures; 92%

- 2009 Toy Fare Fan Choice Poll = 12 out of 30 made into figures; 40%

- 2011 Hasbro Fan Choice Poll = 7 out of 20 made into figures; 35%

Who’s left?  Glad you asked.  I’ve compiled the list of left-overs into one easy to reference/discuss list.  The # in parens is the polls they appeared.

Anakin Solo (2006)
Cane Adiss (2009)
Captain/Admiral Pellaeon (2009, 2011)
Captain/Admiral Piett (2011)
Cliegg Lars (2009, 2011)
Corde (2009)
Darth Caedus (2009)
Dash Rendar (2009)
Vintage-deco Death Squad Commander (2011)
Dorme (2009)
RotJ Emperor Palpatine w/throne) (2011)
Guri (2009, 2011)
Jaxxon (2009, 2011)
Joruus C’Baoth (2009, 2011)
Kittster and Wald (2009)
Mosep Bineed (2011)
RotS Nute Gunray (2011)
RotS Funeral Padme Amidala (2006)
Queen Apailana (2009)
Queen Jamilla (2009)
Sergeant Doallyn (2009, 2011)
Sim Aloo (2009, 2011)
Taym Dren-Garen (2009)
Tey How (2009)
Toryn Farr (2009, 2011)
Tzivvzt (2009, 2011)
Yak Face (2011)

Depending on how you feel about Doallyn vs the Brock Starsher we got, I guess you could give Hasbro a 0.5 credit on that one...

Still lots of figures left to go...
