Like the reveals, hope to see more at Toy Fair.

Having Hammerhead and the trooper be deluxe figures is a crime.

This is the way.

I have spoken.

I get the distain for the DLX price, but if it means Hammerhead is getting a nice wash and fun accessories, I can deal with it (I buy so little these days anyway).

I really like how they gave him the POTF2 homage mega-rifle, the TSC homage staff, and the extra drinkin' hand.

With the armored commando, I fully expect to see him again somewhere.  Hasbro loves double-dipping too much not to use him again.  I will likely limit myself to 2x on the DLX and then just wait it out before buying more to see if he ends up in a troop builder 4-pack or some set or something.

As a fan-channel release I am not so sure. He will at least not pull a Cobb Vanth at Walmart and Target.

Ah okay, I didn't realize it wasn't going to be at Target like the others.

Does Fan-Channel include Amazon?

Usually, but not always.  For DLX, I think Amazon skipped a few of them (Zeb, Jango).

It was a generally good livestream for TVC.  The announcement of the Landspeeder was nice, even though it got leaked through that poster in Germany.  And I am wondering if it might get a more thorough reveal over this weekend in conjunction with Toy Fair?  It seems like something that Hasbro might reveal in one of those pieces that they do in partnership with USA Today.

The Ponda Baba reveal was predictable and meh.  I get the push for Cantina aliens.  And it was predictable since Hasbro announced the Dr. Evazan re-release.  I've seen more complaints than I would care to see about how Ponda Baba is being re-released.  And mostly because I wonder if these people have been paying attention at all to the way Hasbro has been doing things the past few years?

As for the two deluxe figures?  I think the price will definitely be a deterrent, and it's going to affect sales.  I don't know if Hasbro is aware of how many collectors buy as many as 3 of a basic figure release of individual characters.  Because I WOULD have bought 3 Momaw Nadon's if that was a basic figure release.  But with the deluxe price point I am only going to buy 2 at the most.

I like the Momaw Nadon figure.  It looks great, and the accessories are a clear nod to the past - the E-11 harkens back to the Kenner era accessory, the double barreled blaster is pure POTF2, and the staff is like the TSC release from 2006.  Does all of that justify the $24.99 price point?  Ehhh

The Imperial Armored Commando looks really good.  And I expect the double, triple or quite possibly the quadruple dip with this one!  This deluxe versions seems to be a strategic choice on Hasbro's part from a sales perspective.  I think they want to see how many of the army builders will bite.  And the set is clearly designed around a very specific scene in The Mandalorian season 3, "The Return".  This trooper has EVERY weapon that the Imperial Armored Commandos have as Din Djarin fights his way through a gauntlet of these Commandos who are standing guard by the barrier shields leading to Moff Gideon's command center.  Looking through the scene they have the SE-14R blaster pistols (included), vibro knives (included), riot batons (included), shields (included) and jet packs (included).  The troopers also have blaster rifles (included) seen in the larger battle sequences.  The only weapons that didn't seem to be included were the twin blaster pistols that Din Djarin took from the final pair of guards he defeated.

So what else do I expect with the Commandos?  I think we're likely to see a troop builder 4-pack, plus a single carded officer with the red markings on the armor.  And eventually I think Hasbro will do what they did with the Dark Trooper, and it's likely that they'll release a single carded TVC basic figure of this trooper.

I hadn't thought about this, but doing a 4-pack with all the weapons options would have been a far better option.  And they could start with a single carded basic version with limited accessories.

The tricky part with this, at least from a collector perspective, is to try stepping back and realizing that there's almost certainly going to be the way collectors view this and the way Hasbro views this.  The marketing people at Hasbro almost always win here.  And it's because they're trying to maximize the revenue for the company.  Once people can grasp that, the motivation becomes a lot more clear.  At least it is for me.  Which is why I think this is the most likely schedule of offerings with this tooling:

1 - Deluxe figures - MSRP $24.99
2 - Imperial Armored Commando Officer (red markings) basic figure - MSRP $16.99
3 - Troop builder 4-pack - MSRP $54.99
4 - Imperial Armored Commando basic figure - MSRP $16.99 (release scheduled 2 years after initial release)

Yeah, the Armored Commando smacks of making money.  Get the army builders to start off buying a bunch at a higher price and then get more down the road with the re-issues.  Probably helps get all the accessories tooling upfront in that DLX set too.  Doing a single-card officer with the red highlights and then a 4-pack makes sense too.

Back to this one, it sounds like Amazon might not be carrying Hammerhead but should have the Imp Armor Commando.

Nice to get confirmation on the landspeeder. Hopefully that is not going to cost more than the Speeder Bikes (without a pack-in I feel that is still reasonable even with today's prices). I can't image wanting to spend to much more that than on a small vehicle...

Sounds like the Landspeeder will end up in the $60-80 range...  more details to come.

I would not be surprised to see the Landspeeder offered in that price range.  There's also the mystery of another vehicle in the works for TVC.  And I think there could be some possibilities with this if it's slated to be part of the Return to Tatooine theme:

-The Imperial Troop Transport - Sure, it was originally released by Kenner in the 1978/79 line.  And then it turned up in The Mandalorian, eventually being released in TVC.  The Kenner box art always made it look like it belonged on Tatooine.
-T-16 Skyhopper - It amounted to a toy and glorified set dressing in ANH.  But I'm fairly sure there's one in the ROTJ victory montage as it checks in on Mos Eisley.  Could Hasbro go back to the well with this?  It was one of those POTF2 vehicles that was a bit of a surprise way back when.  I could see the potential for packing in a variation of Farmboy Luke with this.
-Lars family speeder - Again, this was essentially set dressing.  It got a repaint for appearances on the streets of Mos Eisley.  Plus the same model speeder was worked into the final episode of The Book of Boba Fett.  Is it worth Hasbro going there?  I don't know.

I really hope they don't do a redo of the troop transport or the T-16.  I'm fine with the versions I have.

I would really like a Lars family speeder though.

I still think it could be the "9000 Z001 landspeeder". There was a shadow on the poster outside of the Cantina that looked like it could be the right size, plus it would tie in with both the HasLab & the smaller Mos Eisley Streets playset.
