Another thing that amazes me is how much "christmas" has leaked into everything else...

They have "Christmas Lights" and decorations for:
4th of July, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc.

Every year I am amazed at hom much shelf space/$$ are wasted on this junk.  We have an older couple on our block that changes the lights on their house at all times of the year.  Their house is different almost EVERY month of the year!   :o

January - Giant inflatable Upright for Football Playoffs / SuperBowl
February - Valentine's Decorations/lights (red)
March - St. Pat's decoration and green lights
April - Eastern decoration and lights (yellow, blue, green)
May - Memorial Day Yellow Ribbon on every tree
June - Giant 6ft inlatable TC the Bear for the Twins
July - 4th of July decoration and red/white/blue lights
August - Usually the only month it doesn't change, stays USA 4th of July
September - Giant 6ft Inflatable Viking and Ship (Skol Vikings) Purple/Yellow lights
October - Halloween Decoration and orange lights
November - Thanksgiving decoration and lights (red/yellow/orange)
December - Christmas lights/decorations

Half the time I wonder where they dig up all thes decorations and lights, but I guees the "Holiday Decorative business" has gone from just Christmas to a year round effort now...

We had Christmas stuff up in the stores in late August.

Halloween is getting screwed this year. I have seen maybe 1, 2 stores selling 'ween stuff.

Target had both Halloween and Christmas stuff at the end of August, after the Back to School rush.

Yup...Today, all Halloween or fall merchandise went to the clearance bins in the front of our store...it was kind of sad...I wanted to purchase some of that stuff, but I guess I missed out.

Wal-Mart had just set up their big Christmas tree over Labor Day weekend. I think they just completely skipped Halloween this year (though they still have all the candy)?

I must be the last person who hasn't seen any Christmas decorations yet this year. I do tend to avoid the area in which WM has their display, so that must be the reason for it.

I wonder which year they'll finally say screw it and just leave a Christmas aisle up as a permanent spot within the stores.  WM I could see doing it right away and just making it part of the lawn/garden center.

Might as well.  It seems more of their white trash customers, who decorate for Christmas, leave their crap out all year.  That way, they'll feel more at home.  There must be something soothing about seeing a inflatable snowman all year long next to a rusted out Chevy Beretta that sits in said persons yard.

Looks like its that time of year again ::).  As posted in the Back to School thread, I went into Garden Ridge last week and they already had multiple aisles of Christmas stuff out -- complete with numerous decorated trees.  Went into the Dollar Store today to buy beach toys and they had Christmas stuff out too.
