Burger King Glasses Figures!!!!!!

At least a little repaint action to not feel completely burned.

Yeah, then all the loose collectors who don't care for these cups would be going NUTS!  Nah.  You're basically paying $10 for the cup, and you get a free (OLD) figure with it.  That's what it boils down to, and how you should try to look at it I guess.

I've still got my two sets of each, and will unfortunately probably keep them both (I was originally hoping to go only "carded" or loose with these, but not both).

OCD always wins out though.    So I'll be picking these new ones up when they come out as well.  Now that there's 3 more OT ones, I've got to wonder if they'll try to stay consistent, and add in another for TPM and AOTC...?  Not to mention an Ep. 3 cup or two as well.  Hopefully they don't blow that off, 'cause that would make my Cup display all outta whack.  If they added a couple more for the Prequels, who would you guys want to see?  I'd probably have to go with a Padme/Amidala for Ep. 1, and Dooku for Ep. 2 (for the main character's cup, not the figure of course).

I haven't opened up any of these Target cups yet though, and therefore haven't really compared them to my vintage Burger King glass sets.  Has anyone done that yet?  How do they look next to them, both size-wise, and quality-wise (the latter I'd assume isn't even close)?

they all seem to be the same height, except for the esb glass which is about 1/4" taller for some reason. these new ones are also a little fatter, at least to me. but the fact that they are plastic and not glass kinda ruins the whole thing. i mean, they are nice, but i'll take the old school "glass" glasses over these plastic glasses any day.

Thanks for the picture.  I was wondering if they were the same size or not.  

I'm sure I'll get the next three in the series, I just have no common sense when it comes to this stuff.

For those of you who have picked any of these glass sets up, do you open them up or leave them in their little plasticy boxes?  Right now I have mine boxed up, but thought about opening them just to display the glasses (since the figures are just repacks, and it would help a little bit with space issues).  For now they are ok, since I only have two, but while re-arranging things to (hopefully) create more space, it just got me to thinking about whether or not I should open these up.  Especially with possibly a few more coming up, as Scott reported earlier (Han, Yoda, Boba).  Plus, I'm still looking for that Luke one....nothing but Obis and Mauls sitting around here.

Boxed for me and that is how they shall remain.  At some point, I'll put them on display and I like the consistency of hte packaging, allowing for stacking.  The figures are negligible to me, they can be there or not.  I plan on getting as many as they produce, simply because I want the glasses.  Have a trade pending for Leia, so I am up to date.  

I do find them pricy for what is there, but I suppose it's $5 for the figure and $5 for the glass.  The $5 for the figure just hurts for a rehash.

That's one of the reasons I've left them boxed too, easy to stack...consistent looking.  I keep buying them for the glasses too, although I don't have another Slave Leia figure besides that one.  That is one reason I was thinking about opening it up, but I might wait to see if I can find an OTC repack one later on when it is released.  Thanks for the tips guys, on what you are doing.  I'm with you, I'll buy as many as they release, just because I like the glasses.

Just noticed in the little Q and A over at Rebelscum today, the impression that he (Mark, of Question Mark) got from Hasbro is that he didn't think that we would see anymore glass sets.  Apparently they didn't do as well as expected.  We personally never saw the Luke/Anakin glasses here.  Leia showed up once, briefly, and sold out quickly.  Obi and Maul are still sitting around.  I know some people dislike these, and I could do without the rehashed figures as well, but I was kind of hoping the Han/Boba/Yoda glasses would see the light of day.  Maybe they still will.

Could be foreign releases only...information I have is that Han, Yoda, Boba and Vader, Luke Jedi and Greedo will all be released at the same time.  If they still come is a different story, I could see them canning the whole thing

That kind of bites, but at the same time I'm glad they won't come out. They were a stupid idea to begin with, plus who knows if the Ep. III set will ever come out.

These would have been huge had the figures been all-new, or at least redecoed in some way.

I guess maybe this belongs in the OTC section now, judging by the packaging, but Galactic Hunter has some packaged pics up of that next wave of glasses (Han, Boba, Yoda).  That black and silver packaging just makes everything look better, doesn't it?  I do hope these come to retail here, the figures I could care less about...but I do enjoy the glasses.  Plus, its 3 of my favorite characters.
