hmmm, here's how mine break down at this point:
rent: $850
phone: $50
cell phone: $30
pse&g: $300
cable tv & internet service: $135
student loan: $50
food: $250
car insurance: $70
entertainment: $400
total = $2135
**notes:
rent: yes, i pay a lot in rent, but i like my apartment. it's 5 rooms, and i live alone, so i have lots of space to myself. bedroom/living room/computer room/toy room/kitchen/bathroom.
pse&g bill is so high because...
it's been like that for the past few months... it's been really cold, and stuff, but i don't think that can be right. i have the guy from pse&g coming down next week to check out my meters and see if one of them is busted or something.
student loan is $50 because of some kind of payment plan i signed up for. the payments are $50 a month for the first 3 years (?) and then it goes up to $125... which should be shortly.
food: i average about $60 - $70 a week for groceries, i try to make my lunch and bring it to work with me everyday, this way it saves me a few bucks. otherwise i'm spending like $8 - $10 a day for lunch when i go to the fast food restaurants by my job.
entertainment: talk about wasting money. this pretty much covers just about anything that i buy - magazines, movies, toys... whatever. and i'm forever renting movies in blockbuster... plus my weekly - and sometimes twice a week - trips to the local pub. i usually spend about $100 a week on miscellaneous crap, so that all goes under "entertainment".
the really sad thing is that this all totals up to $2135 a month, and that's pretty much to the penny what i take home in a given month. sometimes it can be a little more, if i work any extra days, or any extra hours, but that pretty much about covers it. no wonder i don't ever have any extra money at the end of the week
