I just lost my job. UPDATE- finally got another one!

and believe it or not, I'm happy.

Maybe it's just the shock, but I think it's the best day of my life.

I was going to quit soon anyway, this just means I can collect unemployment. 

Unfortunately, it pretty much means the end of my collecting days, at least until I get a new job.

I'm so glad to be out of there. I hated that job with a passion, and this will be the thing that kicks me in the ass and brings much-needed change to my life.

I know I promised to buy things from jadesfire, Famine, and other people, and I apologize, but I'll not be able to buy these things. And Morgbug- I won't be able to buy those 12" figures you asked me about.

It's cool that your gonna enjoy yourself. You shouldn't mooch off of unemployment for longer than you need though.

Sorry to hear about your job, but on the bright side you seem pretty positive about it.

Felt the same way about my last job, I put a notice in then they fired me, that was such a relief when they did that.

Thanks. I don't intend to be on unemployment for too long. Just until summer classes start, and I can take out more student loans.
I cashed out my 401k and I'll get that money in June, so that will pay off my car. After that, I'll only have rent and car insurance to worry about.

Sorry to hear that Ben, but it sounds like it's for the best.  Good luck staying on your feet in the meantime, and hopefully you'll land something better in the near future.

I know I'd be bummed if I lost my job, but at the same time, it'd be the biggest relief in the world, since I'm rather tired of it as well.  Just too chicken **** to do anything about it on my own just yet.

I am relieved. When I got there today, I wondered how I could pull myself through another day.

Now, a few hours after the fact, I'm at ease. It's going to suck filing an unemployment claim, but it's something I'll have to do if I wanna eat.

My brother has offered me a business opportunity, so I guess I'll look into that.

Things like this can sometimes be for the best.  I blindly quit a job almost 10 years ago and it motivated me begin a new career which I have been doing ever since.

I felt that way about my previous two career decisions before where I am now.
