What a bunch of A-holes at Target... My god. One of my worst retail experiences with low-level employees I do believe.
So I took the # and called a couple "local" (I'm talking like 45 mins away though) Targets and at the first one I got a nice guy who was helpful. Great.
Second Target I called the guy was like "We don't have that", I told him I have the DPCI # and asked if he could just check it. He told me, "We don't carry that". I told him to then just check the #, I know he's capable of it, and I didn't wanna make a 1 hour trip to his store for nothing. He said, "OK, what is it", and I read it, and he just said, "Yeah, there's none of those here, goodbye".
So I went to the first Target... After haggling with an employee about what it was, telling him there's none on the pegs and asking if he could go in the back (I used the, "The guy I talked to told me to make the trip down and someone could help me" line), the guy went in the back finally and brought one out. At that point, another employee and the one who brought me the figure both started asking me, "is this valuable?" type questions. I told them it isn't, and that if they make a lot it won't ever be... It may have an initial "push" but that's it. I tried to avoid any army builder potential topics or anything, and just get their minds off their wallets and to just not screw everyone in that Targets area.

So from there, I left with my one Clone (which the one guy I think didn't want to sell it to me because he I could see the steam coming from his ears as he thought about buying what he could and selling them). I went down the highway then to the next Target to form a sorta triangle toyrun. There's a highway from that one that'd run right back to my house (a 45 min drive from that Target to home though, and from the first Target to the next was easily 45 mins as well). I get there, and this is the store that the ******bag told me "we don't have that", and low and behold they're in stock. If I could've had that $5.15/hr yutz in front of me I'd have kicked him in the nuts at that point.
I asked a girl for help, she gave me the "We can't bring 'Collectibles' out for you" line. I told her it's a toy, she said no. I told her it's for my kid. She said no. I left.
On the way out I popped off at Customer Service to try them. It worked and after much searching they found me one and brought it out. What a fiasco though.
I like Target... I like it more than Wal-Mart as far as stores go simply because it's always less "hectic" feeling, aisles are bigger, and it's a generally cleaner store (Some WM's are very clean/nice though). That's important stuff to me. If there's one constant in the retail universe though, it's that people from the ground up often just don't care. I worked management for J.C. Penney's, and it's no different. I guess that's the price you pay for "sales" and "price cuts" and the like. Poor quality in service. I will say some people were very nice today, but only 1/4 of the people I talked to were while easily the majority were rude and couldn't have acted more "bothered".
That's just my little retail rant. Usually I give them the benefit of the doubt but today was frustrating trying to just get some simple help on something to save me some time. Given how much I support Target over WM, they owed me more than what I got.
