Well, I went with a friend and saw it again on Saturday, In fact, we watched it twice that day so now I've seen it a total of five times and still I find it to be great fun to watch.

Time for a bump!

Serenity comes out on DVD tomorrow and I know I have to make the trip to Best Buy to grab one to add to the pile of Christmas loot for the wife...

I've seen a few of the deleted scenes on the net and it looks like this could be a great DVD.  Looking forward to watching the film again this week!

So I still am not a fan of this Serenity stuff, but I've got to ask if any of you people went to the Firefly convention in L.A. a week or two ago?

Naturally, I didn't - but a friend of mine apparently proposed to his girlfriend at the event, somehow employing the 'main guy' from the movie in his proposal stunt.

Anyone catch this who could fill me in on the details?

I recalled reading something about this, then it dawned on me. So here you go Rob from www.Whedon.info...

A sweet moment: Nathan stood inexplicably, and seemingly pretending to be a psychic getting a vision, divined the name "Erin Fitzgerald." "Is there an Erin Fitzgerald here?" There was (there were two, actually), so he had the one come up on stage, and she gave him a hug. "Do I scare you?" He asked of the visibly nervous but delighted woman. "Do you have a boyfriend?" She did. "Is he bigger than me? Can he beat me up," Nathan asked. "What’s his name?" "Thor" the woman responded. "What’s his real name?" Thor was in fact his real name, and Nathan brought him up on stage too, then had him get down on his knee. By this point, everyone realized we were witnessing a very clever and fun marriage proposal. Thor asked Erin to marry him him and she said yes, to applause from the stars and crowd. Nathan and the other actors hugged Erin.

Sounds pretty entertaining, full con details can be found by clicking here

I didn't follow "Firefly" during its 12-13 episode runm, but watched the movie. Just seemed like a stripped down "Star Wars" with a homicidal "Minority Report" styled precog. I thought it was kind of ambitious to drop $20 M on a cancelled television show based soley on some fansites and people dropping $30 on the DVDs.

This is the only thing I asked for for Christmas, so I'll either end up with three copies (none of them widescreen) or none at all.

For as much as I'm a fan of the movie and have been waiting for the DVD, I had no idea when it was coming out until yesterday. :P

I picked it up on Tuesday as well.  Great movie and I've watvhed it twice already.

I don't normally watch the movie with commentary, but I might have to with this one.

I finally picked this up today. I'm making my wife sit down and watch the entire series before I let her see it though. She's going cry when Book and Wash get it. :D

I got one widescreen copy, which made me happy. But I've only been able to watch it once since my uncles and my mother all wanted to borrow it.  ::) :)
