I started in on Blue Moon back in 2005 when I was down at Purdue University.  There's a local company now brewing something very similar, so it's no stretch to get it.  But I'll probably have too many Blue Moon over the next couple of days and hopefully at least one pumpkin beer.  Maybe I'll get some Frankenberry too so I have the whole Halloween season covered. :-X

Every once and I while I try to develop a taste for Scotch so I can be one of those whiskey snobs with the tweed jacket and pipe.

I don't think it's going to work today either.

One site claims to detect in this stuff "sweet vanilla grains, blueberry yogurt, melting butter in a pan". I call bull****.

Y'know, I was pretty excited last week to try pumpkin ale because I really like the Blue Moon wheat beer.  But I don't like pumpkin pie and I really don't like my beer to taste like pumpkin pie.  So pumpkin ale gets a resounding thumbs down from me. :-\

Not a beer for sissies.

8.8% ABV.

"This one-of-a-kind brew uses enormous, almost reckless, quantities of Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops, 12 pounds per barrel to be exact, which give the beer an unmatched flavor dimension and complexity.  To put that into perspective, a barrel of Samuel Adams Boston Lager® contains about 1 pound of hops per barrel and ordinary beers contain about 1.5 ounces per barrel."
