Other Toy Lines / Re: McFarlane Sportspicks
« on: August 19, 2003, 12:19 PM »
I just wish that McFarlane had made at least one set of Team USA.  I thought the Team Canada series was really cool, But, we came in second in the Olympics to Canada, and there were already several players from Team USA who were in the Sports Picks line.  Where's the love for US Hockey?

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Bounty Hunter Pack: Have You Found It?

Haven't seen it at retail yet.  Key word is YET.  I DID see it in Chicago at WWC, but they wanted $40 for it.  I wasn't about to pay double retail just to get it a couple of weeks early.

The POTJ Deluxe Amanaman is still readily available around here.  AND on clearance, for the most part.  I see no good reason to put it out again.

I GOTTA score a Faytonni, and soon!  I gotta get him in time for a show that's coming up here in September.  Anthony Daniels is going to be there, and I'd really like to get him to sign one of these, as well as a "Purchase Of The Droids" cinema scene that I had Phil Brown sign.  Anthony jsut doesn't make that many appearances on the autograph circuit now.

Other Toy Lines / Re: McFarlane Led Zeppelin & Jimi Hendrix

Jimi looks cool!  Too bad they didn't finish his paintjob.  That's the reason for the shodowy lighting.

Now I'm REALLY curious to see how Led Zeppelin comes out.  Just having Bonzo and Jonesy is gonna be awesome.  I don't care as much about Page and Plant.

No need to fear.  NHL5 was the only Canadian exclusive SERIES they've done.  There have been a couple of other Canadian exclusives, like 2 2-packs, and the Team Canada 3-packs.  The stuff that's just been unveiled will be available all across North America.

Hall of Justice / Re: Mattel Batman

The Batman I got in Chicago is the same scale as the new versions that Mattel has just put out.  Think of the zipline Batman, but in the classic gray and blue outfit.

I got the Batman exclusive at Wizard World in Chicago.  Got it signed by the 4 Horsemen, too.  Strangely, though, I don't collect Batman.  Impulse buy on my part.

A couple of my friends have found Eowyn, but she was packed one to a case.  I also found a lone Treebeard, as well as some Smeagols and Gollums.  So far, he's what I've seen personally:

...and that's it.  Haven't seen Eowyn, or any of the horse and rider sets yet.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: How are you feeling?

There's still some ground left to cover in the Original Trilogy, but yes, it does seem more geared towards improvements.  There are very few things that haven't been done that need to be touched on in some form or another.

The prequel trilogy has a lot of ground that can be covered in the toy lines.  EPISODE I alone has a lot to offer in that area.  Just look at the podrace, and you've got a bunch of vehicles, and a bunch of aliens to pick from.  The same holds true with the Coruscant Nightclub in EPISODE II.

As for how things will carry over following 2005?  I don't know.  We'll have to wait and see.  If Hasbro can continue to put forth some good ideas, then maybe I'll stay interested.  A lot also depends upon what good old GL has in store for fans.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What do you buy at the Movie Snack Counter?

I used to go by the old standby:  popcorn and a coke.

But lately?  A pack of twizzlers, and a bottled water.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Power Outage
« on: August 17, 2003, 05:12 PM »
You might take notice, that the power outage problem led to as many as SEVEN nuclear power plants going offline.  Presumably, their reactors scrammed automatically as a precautionary measure.
