Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Avengers (and sequels)
« on: February 9, 2014, 01:44 AM »
My theory is that Ultron will be built by that shady government agency from the first Avengers in response to the supers being too unwilling to follow orders and think for themselves. Based on what I've seen in the Cap trailer, it looks like Cap might be making a stand and doing what he thinks is right rather than following orders. I think Ultron will be built in response to that, in fear of the avengers turning rogue.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: Black Series Rumors
« on: February 7, 2014, 10:57 AM »
About halfway decent a list. This line has quite a lot of re sculpts though which is a shame. If the stuff like new head hoth Luke and Vader is what brings costs down enough to get stuff like Doallyn and Ree Yees then it's worth it. R5 droid is cool too. If Hasbro wants to reduce costs, just throw a random repaint astromech in every wave, i doubt many would object to that. Really hoping we get some more Cantina guys this year though, Hasbros been cranking out the odd Jabba goons pretty steadily, but we haven't seen a new Cantina guy since Evazan.

Middle Earth / Re: The Hobbit - Toy Line

I got my Azog and Radagast recently too, very top notch stuff here, very impressed. It's a damn shame they don't seem to be doing well because they really are one of the nicer looking lines in this scale. I can just imagine what we might have been able to get if it had taken off, a LOTR spin off line would have been fantastic. Hopefully we get some halfway decent news from Toyfair about the fate of the dwarves, not terribly optimistic, but I will hope for the best.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2014: What Are You Collecting?
« on: February 7, 2014, 10:48 AM »
I find my wants shifting quite a bit this year due to the pain of rising costs, action figures just feel less and less worth it of late. I love what they're doing with them, it's a great time as far as quality goes, I just find more and more that I'm drifting towards giving Lego my disposable income, feels like more bang for the buck, more fun in the long term. That said though, I've still got a few things on the go.

Star Wars: Still down for any quality 3.75" product. I still love collecting Star Wars at this scale, and the infrequency of waves makes it affordable and easy to keep up. 6" not so much, they're nice, and I have a few, but theres not much better about them to me from thier smaller counterparts. That said, I'll make an exception for Vader and Chewie if they're done well...

MOTU: I've got a sub, they're fun figures, but I'm really starting to feel the pinch on these ones. This year is probably it for me here.

Marvel: I'm game for Universe and Cinematic Universe 3.75"

DC: I have some interest in that multiverse line, especially the Keaton Bats and Reeve Superman stuff coming out later in the year. Will wait and see what the production quality looks like.

Transformers: Generations figures that catch my fancy, particularly the Beast Wars redos they've been cranking out lately.

EDIT: Yeah...those Funko Re Action lines too, those are just cool looking.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - Wave 5
« on: October 10, 2013, 11:32 PM »
I like the look of this lot, should be a fun wave to get a hold of. My only criticism is in regards to Yodas lush head of hair. Does anyone else think they kind of overdid it with the hair a bit?I always kind of preferred the balder look with maybe a couple strands here and there.

Saga Legends / Re: Battle of Geonosis: Jedi Knights Battle Packs

"Estimated Ship date: 12/31/2013"

Tha'ts probably not accurate. Apparently they put that as the default ship date when they're not sure when they'll be out. They had the same thing for Transformers Masterpiece Soundwave and he's starting to ship now. I imagine they'd have them out in time for Christmas, probably Oct or Nov if not sooner even.

I just saw these posted on TRU Canada for pre-order. i guess they're TRU exclusives then? I imagine they'll pop up on the US store before long.

Taking a closer look at the costume, it kind of looks like it might be the same more or less as the Rebel Honor Guard, so maybe this'll be similar to the Rebel Fleet Trooper and just be an Honor Guard with an extra hat and a few medals?

Joe Defender / Re: BBTS Exclusive 7-Pack Battle Packs
« on: February 7, 2013, 09:57 PM »
I just saw that BBTS has a 1 day only sale for the Marauders for 20$ off if anyone was still interested but hasn't bitten yet. I just ordered a set, it's a steal at that price.

Middle Earth / Re: The Hobbit - Toy Line

I think Bridge Direct has an incredible opportunity with this line, with Star Wars basically looking dead for the immediate future. They could potentially snap up all the bored and disillusioned Star Wars collectors for themselves if they play things right. I'm salivating at the thought of a LOTR trilogy line done in the 3.75" scale. Just imagine the possibilities, the army building potential itself is excellent and I'd love to see this teeny little company no one ever heard of before suddenly rise up the ranks in collectors eyes. I look forward to future announcements.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6 Inch Figures?
« on: January 28, 2013, 08:23 PM »
I don't care if it happens, but it's not for me. I might grab some of the really cool looking designs like Vader and Fett, but they'd be slim. As with most, I'm invested in the 3.75" line. If it starts looking like Iron Man 3 figures then I guess thats it. I've got other lines I can move onto, especially if Bridge Direct starts making 3.75" LOTR figures.

I've been thinking about this lately, and for me, I could take an articulation reduction fairly easily, but not a detail and paint apps reduction. Articulation was never that high a priority for me, since I usually just stick my figures in vanilla poses anyway to take up less space. At this point in the game, all I'm really interested in is getting more Cantina and Jabba goons, and I really don't need any more than Ellors in terms of joints, as long as they look as solid. I do wonder if Hasbro shouldn't look into an online collector line though. If Mattel can keep lines going like that, I don't see why Hasbro couldn't with Star Wars.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Will your collecting habits change?
« on: November 1, 2012, 01:08 PM »
For me, as long as I think it looks cool, I'll probably buy it. I've got a whole bunch of PT stuff, and I'm not a huge huge PT fan, but I like a lot of the design work and overall concepts, which is all it takes for me to pick it up.

I'd be down for a Cantina and Jabba themed set. Maybe a sandtrooper and a funky alien and a Gammo and a funky alien or somthing along those lines.
