I've been on both sides of this issue.  I've sold a lot of customs (mostly all clones) on eBay.  I did this so that I could help pay for my Star Wars habits.  It was also a good way to get into the hobby, make a few mistakes and recoup some of my costs.  I'm finding out that customizing as a hobby is as expensive (if not more than) my previous collecting habits.  So anything I can do to defer the costs are good.

Unfortunately, most of my collections exist in rubermaid tubs in my basement, so I don't really get to enjoy my customs as much as I'd like.  Therefore, in some aspects, customs that I've made a sold are probably being enjoyed by others more than myself.  For me the fun part has been making them and not necessarily digging them out of the basement to look at them.

However, now that I'm more a part of this community (albeit a very new member) and as I've been branching out more with my customs (e.g. group projects) I find myself with mixed feelings.  Some of the my newer customs I do for me and do not think I would sell.  However, to be honest, I do think that I could make some again (in duplicate) and sell.

Unfortunately (or is that fortunately) I only have the one sand crawler.  I got that cheap too at a Hot Topics store last fall (~$25 as I recall).  I guess you could say, I collect Jawas on the cheap.

I've been able to pick up 4-5 Veers at my local Wal Marts and Targets.  Of course I was looking for figures every morning before work.

Great update D.E.  I love that aquarium in Gatlinburg.  The Pirate pose is classic!

I think I'm on the list after Chewie.  If I can get him before Feb 16th, I can include Obi-Wan on my family's long weekend coming up.

Did we decide to add "customized" bumper stickers to his traveling case?

Thanks for all the comments.  I really like the way Roronn turned out.  I was surprised how easily those parts fit together.  I may put a soft goods cloak on him to see how he looks.  The wolfman was one of my first intensive part swaps custom.  I'm still not sure the parts fit together great but overall I'm happy with him.

The KISS custom was a fun little custom.  I hadn't thought about a sidekick per se.  I'm working on the other band members now too (at least mentally I am).  I'm not sure if I'll actually keep them when I'm finished as I'm not exactly a KISS fan.  However, the Mas Amedda tongue inspired me to try it out.

Thats a nice collection of clones.  Do you have them displayed like that?  Or did they get assembled for the picture only?

This isn't really my entire collection but it is a small non-traditional army that I assembled (pretty inexpensively too) from eBay.

I'm in awe of your collection.  My wife would kill me.  However, I know if things get bad I can always show her your collection and say what I could be like  ;)

Thanks for sharing these!!

I was trying to fill in the gap between paint drying on a couple of customs and out of sheer boredom decided to add a little color to some these little SAGA mini Holo figures...

Now that looks GREAT!  I may have found a new project for my holo's.  Wow.

Where do you get the styrene strips for these customs?  They look like a nice thing to work with.

I'm not sure I would want to use a figure with so many joints exposed.  This may be a tough one to make look "natural".   I'll reserve final judgement until you are finished!!  Looking forward to seeing the final product.

I posted my Clone Wars Jedi in the Monthly Group Project thread above but here's another shot of them here:

I was also playing around with an idea that a friend of mine came up with.   Here's what a Senator does on the weekend - "Kiss" Cover Band:

That is a nice looking Shock trooper.  The lines are so clean it looks factory painted (or better!).  I'm with Greg, I didn't realize that was a sculpted backpack.  Wow.  What do you sculpt with?  Keep up the great work.

I finished up my Voolvif Mon (Wolfman) and added my own Roronn Corob as well.  Let me know what you think.

I've also been tinkering with a Saesee Tinn in Clone Armor:
