Star Wars Anthology / Re: Rogue One (SPOILERS)
« on: April 7, 2016, 11:30 PM »
Absolutely love the OT feel to this movie.  I think my favorite part was seeing the AT-AT's in action again.  Mon Mothma looked perfect.  Loved seeing the Gonk droid in a couple shots.  Emperor's Royal Guards!

One thing I couldn't make out was when they are running through the Death Star and they flash a shot of troopers running after them.  Are those supposed to be 41st Elite Troopers (Kashyyyk Scout Troopers) mixed in with the standard Stormtroopers?  Hard to tell on my system...

My 12yo watched the trailer and immediately wanted to know the rating so that he could possibly go on opening night with me.  Mom's pretty strict about PG-13 movies and wants them screened before the boys see them.  Any word on a rating yet?

TV-9D9 / Re: Star Wars Rebels - Season 2 (Spoilers)

I agree with you a lot Jesse.  It seems like they have been testing the waters way too long to see if people are on board or not.  And too often they are throwing in the meaningless 'kids entertainment' episodes like the Chopper one.  If you ended up editing all of the meaningless stuff out of the last two seasons, I don't think you'd have enough there to make half a season at best.  I know that The Clone Wars had the first two movies and a ton of EU books and comics to build off of, but there's enough going on to have some really good story arcs in Rebels and yet there is nothing but single episode rabble IMO.  I guess this is why my sons like it and look forward to new episodes every week and I'm just 'meh' on the whole series.  I'll give it until Season 3 and then I think I might be done...

Sorry for your loss, Rob.  It's been almost a year since we put our Dane down and every once in a while I'll still come home and expect her to come plodding around the corner.  The first month or two are tough and then it gets better bit by bit...

Hoping to still convince my wife that the Ewok Village and UCS TIE Fighter would make great gifts from her and the boys!  Fingers crossed...

Couldn't get her to bit on those two sets, but she did end up getting me the new Millennium Falcon instead.  Already had the last offering, but will gladly put this one next to it.

Here's hoping he leaves the lens flares at home.

+1

Well it looks like we can thank Mrs. Abrams for the lack of lens flare in TFA.  Thank you!

Pulled the trigger on the Sandcrawler and Slave 1 as a birthday present to myself.  Hoping to still convince my wife that the Ewok Village and UCS TIE Fighter would make great gifts from her and the boys!  Fingers crossed...

That was an epic thumping.  I had recorded the game because my son had a basketball game that overlapped, but someone mentioned that it was 5-0 in the third when we were leaving so I never bothered to watch it.  From the 'highlights', it looked like the Wild were playing at a different level and that the Hawks were still admiring their trip to the WH.  Thank god that wasn't in Chicago or that stadium would have been empty by the start of the third...
