My wife and I have been talking about having an in-ground pool kit installed in our backyard.  The web-site we've been looking at states that other than the excavation, homeowners can do the work themselves.  Has anyone done this before?  If so, how hard was it?  What advice/tips can you give to someone who's never attempted anything like this before?  Really hoping to get some good guidance on what to expect/avoid if we try this ourselves.  Thanks.

Sorry I've been away for so long, but as you can imagine from my last post, I've been a bit busy.  We decided to move forward with the project and it's been a grind for about a month.  We should be finishing up this weekend, so I'm hoping to post pictures and testimonial soon.

Bottom line, this was the toughest thing I've ever worked on, but it was not impossible.  We did a lot of the work ourselves, but also hired contractors for certain materials/services when we needed to.  We ended up saving ourselves about half what it would have cost us to hire a company to do the entire project ourselves though, so I think that the frustration, scars, fights and exhaustion was worth it.  More info to come...

Picked up the two basic carded figures from the recent Medicom show for $45 total.  Now it's just a matter of tracking down Maul...

Stole this from space monkey's post over on Kubrick Nation.  Couldn't wait for him to post it any longer...

This will look nice next to the 400% vac-metal C-3PO and TC-14 Kubricks.

Picked up the R2-Q5 from Yahoo! Japan.  Although the auction ended for less than I was hoping to spend on the figure, the shipping and fees from Celga will probably end up costing me more than I wanted to spend...

I was also able to work out an arrangement with a Japanese co-worker to get the 400% Teebo, 400% TC-14 and R2-D2/C-3PO B@earbrick 2-pack from the Project 1/6 Store.  I won't get these for a while, but she saved me over $100 on fees and shipping by picking these up for me.

Isn't it these?

Looks like we'll be getting carded versions of the Vinyl Vader and Tie Fighter pilot from DX4 for the Medicom Toy Exhibition. The Kubrick line is still dead in my eyes so I can't be bothered to make a new thread about them.

No, what I'm talking about is the following.  They announced last year that they were releasing the Stormtrooper and a re-carded Boba Fett at the show and would then have some available on the Project 1/6 site.  So we thought those were the only two figures we were getting.  Then, Medicom had a private event where they gave away carded vinyl Obi-Wan figures to the attendees.  What I'm saying is that I hope that they do the same thing this year and release another vintage nod carded figure.  I'm personally hoping for the Leia since we don't have a non-holo carded figure of her yet.

I'm more interested in the give-away carded figure that they are handing out this year.  Last year was the vinyl Obi-Wan.  Anyone taking bets?  Vinyl Tusken, vinyl Leia, vinyl Jawa?!
