30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Saga Legends

Anyone else finding this?  If so, do you know if the variation exists across all four colors of Clone Officers?

Yeah, a lot of folks have been finding the "moving dots" on all 4 of the Officers.  RS had reported a while back that Hasbro made the change at the request of LFL so the figure was more screen accurate...

"Another change that was made to the Clone Trooper Officers are the location of the dots on the chest armor. The dots were originally higher up on the left side of the chest armor, and Lucasfilm asked that they be lowered to be more film-accurate."

Thanks Jeff.  Do you think the story behind this is real, or is this Hasbro's way of getting some of us to pick up 4 more figures?  :-\

Not to add even more variations and appologies if this is a known change, but I have two different Red Clone Officers from the Saga Legends line.  One has his 4 dots on the left chest up high like the original release EE Exclusive figures.  But I picked up another one of these at Target about a week ago and it has the four dots much lower down the chest.  Anyone else finding this?  If so, do you know if the variation exists across all four colors of Clone Officers?

I'm betting a lot of the wait list people get their orders filled.  Wouldn't surprise me at all if they made this sound like a hugely limited run, then just increased production to account for the wait list folks.  manufacturers can't just make one more figure whenever they want - they have to run a production line of 'x' number of figures.  They probably sell one full production run, and if the wait list count gets big enough, they can order an extended production run.  Let's say they have to make 1,000 of these at a time.  If 1,000 sell and they have 900 wait listers, they can produce 1,000 more and be reasonably assured of selling the bulk of them.  If they only had 100 wait listers, it wouldn't make sense to product 1,000 more and be stuck with all the extras.

interesting take on that-I'll provide the opposite viewpoint.

I didn't necessarily see her try to copy his ability and fail at it either.
Have they shown her doing her eye thing at every single thing going on? no.

With that in mind it's hard for me to believe she can't do those supernatural things yet until she has actually tried and failed at them.

So, I still wonder if it's possible with her.

DS

I'd be willing to put money on her not being able to mimic actual powers.  The only thing that makes me think your theory might be right is something I read way back in EW from the creators that said there would be a finite number of powers among the Heroes, but that those powers might initially manifest themselves in different ways.  If that is true, then she, Peter, and Sylar may all have the same power.  Likewise, Parkman, the illusionist chick, and Parkman's dad all may have the same power of reading/messing with people's minds.  For now, I'm sticking with the guess that she's just able to copy non-powered skills.

She doesn't seem to have Micah's ability to control tech for example.

If so, they would've shown her doing the eyeball thing when Micah fixed the TV.

Exactly.  For those of you old-skule marvel comics readers, she has the same power as the Taskmaster.

I want to know more about the new rogue mimic girl.
I wonder if she only has to see it to do it...then is there a limit to what she can do?
So she could stop time, cast fireballs, lightning..use telechenetic ability ect if she sees it?
With the way the show seems to be casting out characters....then does Peter get knocked off next and mimic girl becomes the next Peter?

DS

I suspect that she can copy actions and skills that her body is capable of following, but I don't think she can absorb and re-use powers the way Peter and Sylar can.  She doesn't seem to have Micah's ability to control tech for example.

I was surprised to see this; it's almost as though Sideshow isn't interested in advertising to as many people as possible, not to mention that if it sold out they probably could have made several hundred more.  I'm not interested in buying this one, but he looks pretty good (doesn't have to be Praji specifically though, could be any black-garbed Imp).  I just wish they'd figure out a way to keep the boots from flaring out like that.

I think they are working with the Harley Davidson strategy of keeping their product relatively rare.  If they made enough for everyone, they'd probably A.) have leftover product from people that cancel and B.) have less demand due to the ease of picking these up whenever anyone wants to.  Seems odd, but they may sell more this way than if they catered to everyone.  Assuming they don't chase too many of us away.   :-\

Wow.  That is one heck of a collection Rob.  Very nice!  Do you keep one of everything carded and get 1+ of everything loose?

It sold out already. I wonder how many people are going to be annoyed that it went up for sale without any notice.

Really?  Wow. I was going to wait until tonight to see if I could use a gift card on it, but ordered just in case.  Whew!

New The Robot Heroes on the way.  Nice to see a few more G1 characters..

That Hound looks sweet.  I almost regret not buying these, but just don't have room for one more line of figs.   :(

Thanks for the size comparison of SS.  I'm definitely going to break down and get one of these despite the crazy price.

FYI, Wave 4 is showing up all around Minneapolis.

Hook me up!!!

Ha!  You're talking to the wrong guy.  One of my buddies was able to get a set for me, but I still need one more for openers.  Two other guys have found them at two different stores though, so be on the lookout.

I like the smaller lineup, but why not go with 2 Tigras and one Punisher for multiple obvious reasons.   ::)  At least with the smaller lineup we might see more than 1-2 waves per year.

I ordered mine. At least its soemthing different, not something i was expecting.

Thanks for the tip!  This was a surprise - had no idea they were making an imp officer.  I used reward points to knock $18 off the price, so that helps a little.  Wish you could use the gift cards on pre-orders.   :P
