I hope when they finally re-do the Fleet Trooper that it's just a new airbrushing of the 1996 one.   >:(

We are overdue for that same sculpt in a Hispanic version aren't we?  Or an Asian or Old Man version?  Just change the head and leave the rest of the existing perfection...   8)

Pass.  I could splash accidental blue paint on one of my cheaper POTF2 Stormtroopers if I really wanted something like this.   ::)

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Republic attack shuttle

The Nu class shuttle would be welcome in my book.  But I think I'd like to see the Twilight made first.  It was featured again in this week's episode.

Agreed. If they're going to make a large vehicle from the Clone Wars, the Twilight should come first.

That seems a lot more likely to me too, though who knows...

Some new pics of MP Grimlock and Cyclonus up on

Cyclonus looks pretty sweet - anyone know if that's in line with the Alternators scale?  Same question on the "Alternity" line of figures - that Megatron looks nice (though I wish they had just made it some other character - Megs as a car seems so wrong).

I have a feeling none of us will ever be finished with our collection displays.   :)

My new year's resolution is to be caught up by end of Feb - we'll see how that works.

Great pics Brent - can't wait to see more!

Nope I have a Small Headed Han Solo from 1996 and he has it stamped on his leg, still looks cool and will do me, but it is a Repro figure.

Wow, now that's digging up the past Cookie.   ;)

ROTF Leader Prime image

Dang. And I thought the one from the first movie was a great-looking toy. This one looks even better. I still don't know why these movie Primes can have long smokestacks while the G1 reissues stateside can't.

I like his santa-sled shaped boots.  I think this is supposed to be the ROTFL Leader Prime.   ;)

Jackson seems to do it or doesn't.

Is that lack of sleep talking?  What other options are there?   ;)

Tough loss for all the Viking fans out there (Brent, Scott...did I miss anyone else?), but better to end your misery now the perpetuate false hope.  I guess Adrian Peterson and company can join A-Rodge watching the games from the armchair next week.

On a bright note, I'm playing the NFL playoff challenge and Adrian Peterson kicked butt for me this week.  My team was almost all top scorers at their positions - the only let down I had was picking B. Berrian instead of someone like A. Gonzales.   :P

Someone had to win that division, I guess.  They were 1-4 against the other playoff teams they played against this year, scored one more point than they gave up all season, and of their 9 wins, only 2 came against teams with winning records.  Yeah, they made the playoffs.  They still stink.  What are they going to do if they have to go into Philadelphia or New York and play in the cold weather?  Lose 47-7 again like they did against the Patriots?
It was nice to see them make the playoffs and host a game for the first time in over 60 years, but I don't see them coming out of the NFC.

Okay, please name another team that has swept their entire division in recent years and I think you'll find the cards in small, but good company.  My team of choice is in the pathetic NFC North and even there it's pretty difficult for any team to dominate the other three.  The Cards beat Miami (another playoff team) and only lost to the Panthers by 4.  As for the New England game, you are aware that they were coming off a major loss and had absolutely nothing to play for in that game, right?

Philly has had some nice games, but only scored 7 against Baltimore and 3 against the Skins.  The Giants have been awful without Burress, losing games to Dallas, Philly, and the Vikes over the last month.  I don't see either team as being all that scary for the Cardinals.  I guess we'll see what happens next week - I just don't see how you can consider one of the final 8 teams to be "not good."

I'm surprised how many "experts" picked Atlanta to win today. They were only 4-4 on the road this year, and regardless of how good Matt Ryan was all season, he's still a rookie QB in the playoffs. Arizona isn't any good, but they play well at home and their crowd was really fired up. That's always a bonus.

How do you figure that Arizona "isn't any good?"  They aren't the most complete team I've ever seen, but they are one of only 12 teams to make the playoffs, only a few teams have been able to stop their offense (and most of those were meaningless games at the end of the season), and they swept everyone in their division this year.  I'm not going to bet on them, but I wouldn't be remotely surprised to see them win the NFC.

Site Feedback, Suggestions, and Help / Re: Front Page News

Wow, you're awfully gabby for a guy who doesn't care about what I think.   ;)

In all seriousness, I appreciate the responses.  I guess I didn't realize that the "mission statement" of the site was to just use it as a communication tool for those already signed up and that the staff was planning to just let it die out.  I certainly felt like that was happening, but didn't know that was the intent.

I've very much enjoyed the site and am sorry to hear that no one's interested in revitalizing it.  I've met Jeff once or twice and am vaugly aware of how much time and effort he's been putting into the site over the years.  Its frankly impossible to be a regular visitor and not have noticed the very day he decided to hang up his cleats - it just hasn't been the same since.

Anyway, I respect the decision of the staff - it's just a very foreign concept to me.  I personally have a very hard time letting go of things that I've invested a lot of time and energy in, so I feel like if I was vested in the creation of something like this I'd be checking into some different options to keep it alive.   Not saying that's right or wrong for you and your buddies - that's just my perspective and the rationale for my comments earlier.

Anyway, thanks for the good memories.  Who knows - maybe someone will come along one day and incorporate the best of what was JD into a brand new SW collecting site?

Basically I'm just saying don't count on us bringing anyone new on, and don't count on the front page changing.  There just isn't anyone with the heart to do it anymore.  I love collecting, but I don't love the thought of doing what Jeff did before his departure, as that's just a chore to me.  :-\  Sorry guys!

I have to say I think this is pretty weak response.  You're basically saying that no one on staff wants to do it, but you're not willing to bring in anyone new who might be willing to help you out.    ???  I'm not aware of too many successful organizations who's motto is "we know there's a problem, we understand your idea for improvements, but we're not going to do jack about it."

The front page is a pretty key element to any site.  I'm not really sure how the site is maintained financially, but if your sponsors are on the main page and people are bypassing to go right to the forums, that doesn't seem like a very wise strategy.  You can also say that you're "focusing" more on the forums, but I think that probably means you're just spending your time blogging like the rest of us.  That will only last for so long before the majority of folks start migrating to more "active" sites.  I personally have started hitting up other sites more often and I know others here who have done the same.

I'm no expert on running websites, but it seems pretty silly to me that you have an able group of supporters who might be interested in helping and you're not even giving it consideration.  To Diddly's point - some news/any news on the front page is probably better than absolutely nothing.

1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: Sideshow 12" Sandtrooper
« on: January 3, 2009, 11:08 AM »
Considering the basic stormtrooper is already $90, I wouldn't expect the Sandtrooper to be less.

Any ideas on the exclusive accessory? Maybe the "look sir, droids" ring or the staff used while riding the dewback.

That's what I figured, but I'm trying to be more optimistic in 2009.   ;D

Speaking of which, maybe the exclusive is the little flying imperial droid that came witht he POTF2 version?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: AT-AT or AT-AT?
« on: January 3, 2009, 11:03 AM »
So we are mostly saying At-At instead of spelling it out. Do you think that is because we are toy collectors and the toy commericals always said At-At? I'm seeing on other sites that younger people call it an A.T.A.T. while us old farts call it an At-At.

What other sites are you referring to where young people are saying it verbally different than we old schoolers do?
