Dark Horizons is reporting Matthew McConaughey is the lead contender to play Captain America.  He definitely looks the part, but I never imagined Captain America to be as soft-spoken as McConaughey is.  I don't know if I can recall any film where McConaughey really screamed or yelled.  I didn't see We Are Marshal, so maybe he went off on coaching rants there.  That'd be akin to what I'd expect from Cap leading the troops against the Nazis.  So you could say that I'm intrigued, but skeptical.

He was pretty outspoken in Reign of Fire - I can totally see him as Cap, but wouldn't have been my first choice.   :-\

**EDIT** You may need to scroll to the bottom and move the scroll bar to the right to view horizontal pics.

All the recent collection photos have inspired me to share some remodeling of my Star Wars room.  Kind of hard to see from the pictures (Jay may inspire me to do a video once its done!), but here's a quick overview:

South Wall

has 12 figures on top, three dioramas (Clones, Hoth Battle, Endor Battle), and most of my basic carded figs (banker boxes, 3 x 9 x 2).

East Wall

has my loose figure collection - every figure from POTF2 to present (still need to open latest Legends and TAC waves)

My Detolf with Avengers/Misc Legends Figs:

West Wall and North Wall
(closet) are not pictured - will be updating those once everything else is completed.

Center Display
is what I'm working on now.  Got the Display cabinet from my mother-in-law and will be stocking with vintage figs, couple of ships, vintage 12", and modern exclusives.  Think I have room for my customs in here too, but we'll see.

Behind the cabinet is a large octogon display.  I'm working on the top right now, which will be a Death Star diorama.  The black octogon in the garage is a pre-fab board that I drilled about 1,000 holes into, then painted yesterday.  This will serve as the floor of the death star - holes are just the right size to fit ulteramma pegs for figures, so I won't need stands and can fit troops closer together.  I also have three vintage DS playsets, a falcon, and a shuttle that all need to go on here - might be tight even though its 4' by 4'.

Anyway, just wanted to document a "before" picture as I'm hoping to make major changes throughout the week.

Picked up a few more TFU extras, a Neyo, all clean sandie, and 4 more scouts to add to the Endor display yesterday.   ;D

I think I read that somewhere...  ;)

Hey, not all of us can read every thread posted in JD.  I mean, its not like that was just written ten posts prior in the same thread or something.  Geez!  ;)

Just a question for those of you who have gotten the delay notice: have your checks already been cashed?  Not to be nitpicky, but if they cashed the check and THEN sent out the delay notice, isn't that a little bit shady, or am I being a little too paranoid?

Also, isn't the very idea of a "sneak preview" figure supposed to be that you have it well before the actual main line hits?  If they're waiting until the last week of July to send this out, it's going to be hitting just as or immediately after the rest of the stuff hits, thus making the entire thing pretty pointless.   :-\

My checks have all cashed.  From the sound of it, I think Hasbro planned to be sending them out sooner, but there was some sort of production delay.  If they're like most big corporations, finance and production don't interact much, so its likely that finance just went ahead with business as usual, thinking these would ship on time.

Just for pictures. Unfortunately, these are going in a box after one more photo shoot attempt next week.

Nice collection.  How come they're going into a box?  ???

Space issues. If I'm going to be able to display a large army, I'd rather it be my imperials.

Speaking of which, will we be seeing your imperial army in the near future?  The clones are impressive, but I somehow thought you had an aven bigger collection based on your purchase posts.  I'm guessing the Imperials are a much larger lot!

FYI - E News reported that Iron Man 2 already has a planned release date of April 2010.  ;D

We noticed that too, I said, "hey, it's the Millennium Falcon!" and my wife said "Is that the new one you want?" to which I replied... "uh, no, the one that's coming out is like three feet long..." and then she stopped talking to me for some reason. :-X

Thanks, LOST!

That's hilarious.   ;D  I noticed the Falcon and called it out while we were watching too, but haven't said jack to my wife about a $150 version coming out in the near future.

Here's the clip

Awesome.  Thanks for posting.  I'm a little bummed that they went with Ultimates Fury instead of old school howling commandos Fury, but very excited to see the Avengers someday!

You think you're the only ************* superhero in this world?

Did he actually say that in your version?  The ************* wasn't there in the one I saw.

Sweet movie, BTW.  :)  Great blend of action and humor.  And seeing the different phases of armor for the first time geeked me out big time.

I haven't seen it, but I think he was just using the SJ's trademark expletive.  I certainly hope he didn't actually use that word - would be way out of character.

Great job of acting - I hope this guy gets cast in more Sci Fi stuff once BG is done.

More Sci Fi? I want to see him in bigger things, and not just sci-fi... the guy is a really good actor. Definitely someone I could see doing great in a war movie or summer action movie.

I just refer to the general genre of action flicks these days as sci-fi.  I'd be fine if it was a war or some other kind of action movie, though I'd base my decision to see such a movie on the premise of the story, not whether or not he's in it.

Sweet!  I like the layout.  Is this a permanent display or are you just setting up for pictures?

If you download the trailer at the bottom of the link you should get the clock/timer.

But the scene is where The Joker is addressing all the thugs around the table. There is one guy who's head is down on the table, "Eric" looks to be the guy sitting right next to him.

Wow, I see him now - good eyes!  Your attention to detail is admirable my friend.   :-*

A lot better than last weeks.  You can tell they're winding down the series as well with all the long time characters they're killing off. Bummer they got rid of that sergeant.

You mean the sergeant that was so well loved that you can't remember her name?   ;)  I just watched the last episode online last night and roughly twelve hours later, i can't remember her name either.  I'm fairly happy with Season 4 so far and defiitely don't miss anyone that's been knocked off to date.

As for Helo, he is just about my favorite character after last night.  I thought the conflict wasn't so much in his friendship with kara, but that he is military through and through and you do not break orders regardless of your personal feelings.  I think the conflict in him was going against what he "knew" was the right thing to do versus disobeying an order, which goes against the very essence of his character.  Great job of acting - I hope this guy gets cast in more Sci Fi stuff once BG is done.

The new trailer is up  8)

Also look at the 00:31 mark on the left side of the screen. Is that Eric Roberts?

Looks good.  I didn't realize Harbey Dent was going to be such a big part of the story.

I don't have any kind of clock on the trailer I saw (?) but I timed about 30 seconds in and didn't seem to see anyone that looked like Eric Roberts.  What is going on in the scene you're referencing?
