Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A Game of Thrones (HBO)

Yeah, I think we're missing something with Sansa/Littlefinger so far.  I guess we're supposed to just think that Littlefinger is placating the North (Bolton) to solidify himself in the West, but with Littlefinger and his speech to Sansa about revenge, there must be something more they have planned.  Sansa is a really valuable chip to just hand over to the Boltons for no real reward.

Let's Go, Wild!

Awesome to see the Wild clinch a series on home ice like that.  Bring on the blackhawks, hopefully things go better this time than the last two years...  :D

Out of the box look at Stormtrooper.  Man, it is getting harder and harder to resist these...  I have a ton of Tamashii Nations' Robot Damashii figures (Gundams), so I know they've got some kick-ass quality.  :-\

I wonder how many people's heads would have exploded in internet rage if Hasbro had decided to make their 6" figs the quality of the Japanese version and thus charged the same price.

I wonder why Hasbro's 12" stuff wasn't as good as Sideshow?

I can't even imagine...

I agree the Japanese stuff is far superior... but there's a severe lack of diversity that comes with that too.  Hasbro has a ton of 6" figures and all the Japanese guys have Vader, Stormtrooper, and maybe a couple others from the high popularity pool (Fett, Maul, R2, 3PO, etc).

But yeah, Nick - the Sideshow thing is a good comparison.  Hasbro isn't looking to be Tamashii/Medicom/Kaiyodo for 6" or Sideshow for 12".  They are looking for that happy middle ground "toy".

I just can't see the 4" line dying after nearly 40 years.

I think all those early worries of NO 4" line are gone at this point.  We already know there is a 4" line coming for Ep7 thanks to Target's leaked DPCI. Hasbro has said repeatedly that they have no interest in killing Star Wars 4" figures.

Whether they have an interest in killing collector 4" figures though... that seems to be where people disagree.  Lots of folks are convinced Hasbro is trying to kill collector 4" to move everyone to 6" stuff leaving dirt cheap to produce 5POA 4" for kids.

I'm hopeful a collector 4" line continues... but who knows.  With Hasbro refusing to say anything it's opening the door to lots of rumor and speculation.

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Star Wars Rebels - Class II Vehicles

I can't see where all the hate is coming from.

It's pretty much coming from it not being 100% like the vintage Kenner toy I imagine.  Doors aren't the same, it's smaller, no wheels, no electronics, etc etc.

Like the rest of this line, these new ships are nice for what they are - cheap, small, and simple.  But, if you'd need anything beyond that, you'll probably be disappointed.

Saga Legends / Re: Saga Legends "Mission Series" Figure 2-Packs
« on: April 25, 2015, 10:54 PM »
With the supposed demise of the Legends/Rebels line, do we know what is happening with the MS line and when we will see the Vader/Asohka pack?   Have they previewed anything else in this line beyond the Hera wave?

Mission Series continues in Fall 2015.  Ahskoa and Vader = Fall 2015.  Nothing else shown because of Hasbro's "first rule of Fall 2015 is don't talk about Fall 2015" thing they have going right now...

Wow.  I barely saw any of these in the stores.

Was Hasbro's production run that small, or did they ship them all to eastern Europe to be clearanced?

Yeah, I find the early Target clearance to be an interesting move for a number of reasons. Were there that few made or did the time just run out on these with the coming Sept relaunch?

Both.  Lots of reports that Hasbro is "sold out" on these cases due to small production runs.  If Target can't get any more product from Hasbro and has nothing left in their DC, they're not going to sit on empty pegs until Ep7.  It becomes time to clearance and use the space for something else.

I wonder if the same thing is going to happen to the TBS figures.  I don't think I've seen anything new since October.

TBS has more waves coming (at least one, potentially two assuming Wave 8 isn't cancelled) so in theory, it should be safe from clearance...  for now.

Time to bring this guy back again...

Let's Go, Wild!

I really hope the team that showed up for Games 1, 3, and 5 is the one that shows up for Game 6 on Sunday.  (I never, ever want to see that team from Game 4 again )

Oh, and before I go - sorry, Jesse.  I guess you can't expect to win with 3 of your top 6 Dmen on IR; 3rd line Wings with Sid and Geno, and some really bad refs in games 1 and 2.   :-\

Darth Maul Update from Tamashii

Holy Moly, Darth Vader looks AWESOME.  Not 100% perfect, but very very nice...  I may have to break down and pick one up.  :-\  #carefuldontopenthatdoor

You're right - I guess I should have said it was Mosep who was retconned into the light-haired nimban, not the dark hair version was retconned into Tawss. ;)

However you want to describe it, thanks to the SW.com article, I always thought Mosep was supposed to be the dark haired guy.  Now, he's the light-haired one for some reason.

Like I said - either way, I'm happy to buy any cantina or Jabba Palace alien they make, even if they can't keep the names straight anymore thanks to all the changes over the years. :)

more carded pics at starwars-figuren

Part of me is still disappointed that they picked the gray-haired Nimbanel look over the dark hair version (aka Marvel Comics 'Jabba the Hut'; aka "Dechipher Mosep" until he was retconned into being Tawss Khaa ::)).  Kind of a subtle kick in the nuts the same way they messed up Brock Starsher versus Sgt. Doallyn thing.

Close enough, but the nit-picky part of me is kind of annoyed.  Would be pretty easy custom I guess to get the other Nimbanel - just trim up the mustache and paint, chop off the pony tail and smooth out.

Still pretty happy to be getting a new Cantina alien though as those seem to be harder and harder to get these days.

I miss you, Star Wars Kubricks.  :'(

It seems like the skirt the 3.75" answer and say things are great for the TBS 6" line, etc.

Yeah, just look at the message from Hasbro at SWCA:

Mission Series -
"Have you seen our great new Ahsoka and Vader?  They're coming Fall 2015! Yay!!!"

Black Series 6" -
"Did you see the Fall 2015 sample package?!  And the prototype 6" Ahsoka coming in 2016!  Black Series is awesome! Yay!!!"

Black Series 3.75" -
"We cannot comment on plans for Fall 2015"

Nothing suspicious there at all... :P

I'm just really surprised that we haven't seen something (anything) for the 3.75" Fall line at this point.  If you believe the reports, this stuff is going to hit Labor Day weekend.  That's less than 5 months from now.  For Revenge of the Sith, we saw Hasbro's card back in JULY 2004, nearly 9 months before the launch.  They could have thrown us that bone and put a sample cardback in the booth, but nope.  Nothing.  :-\

Well, we are all over the map today.

Hasbro: "we have no plans to stop Black Series"

So... $10,000 question - when they say "Black Series", do they mean 6", 3.75", or both?  The answer sounds like they mean both... but then again, they have been avoiding 3.75" answers like the plague lately and only showed Fall 2015 packaging for the 6" line.  Hmmm...

Meanwhile, JTA hears the 3.75" collector line may be a single store (TRU?) exclusive (Again, this is just a RUMOR).

There was a rumor a while back that Hasbro was considering a "direct-to-consumer" model for the collector stuff, like they did with GI Joe.  Only that rumor has the collectors stuff at HasbroToyShop.

I really wish Hasbro would have had the balls to just come out at Celebration and tell us one way or the other for sure - is the 3.75" collector line DEAD or ALIVE?  Every non-answer they offer up just feeds the speculation that the only reason they are not talking about 3.75" is that there is nothing good to tell us...

Instead....  we wait and wade in the rumor pools.   :-\
