Revenge of the Sith / Re: Ep3 Sneak Preview Vehicle

I agree, if they wanted one in there why did they stray from the "behind the cockpit" co-pilot look of the OT?  Would have made much more sense in the back for both the Ep2 and Ep3 versions.  :-\

Now we'll see some lame EU story to explain that Incom moved the R2 unit on the X-Wing from the "front of ship" design to the back because the little droids took so much damage up front, not to mention throwing off the balance of the ship... blah blah blah.

Beating up on Denver last night was a step in the right direction, now let's keep it rolling!

And I agree with ya Brian, I'd like to see Spree moved to shake things up a bit and make room for Wally (who is playing really well now).  Sure would be nice to have that "I need to feed my family" cancer shopped out before the stretch run...

I've been hearing (or rather reading) an interesting tidbit on this Starfighter.

It seems that the "R2 unit" on the starfighter is a junky 1-peice half-droid, but it is removable and the reports are saying that you can fit a regular R2 Droid in open space.

Sort of like a Droid Socket if you want to fill it or a half-droid to fill it if you can't spare an R2.  I'm anxious to hear/see pictures from someone who has it to see if this pans out to be true...   :-\

I hope to stop by and check it out...

As a novice customizer, I am blown away by what some of the big boys can do with sculpy and home-made molds (still after 2-3 years of trying I've NEVER gotten a head mold to come out correctly  :-\).

Should be fun!

There is a new shot of "Polis Massan" over at www.ozfigures.com if you'd like to check it out...

Strange looking alien design and a VERY interesting figure choice.  HUGE spoilers for this little guy, especially if you find out where the character is in the film...

Look at her chest and think about QuiGon.

I'm looking and looking and all I see is shadow from boobage.

Granted I do have bad vision and have been wearing the contacts since 6am, but I just don't "see" it....  :-\

edit - OK, I cut out the "portion" of Shaak Ti in question and played with the image a bit...

Now, I see something, but is is really "battle damage"?  :-\

GH.com has some nice high-res shots up including a spoiler-ish one for Shaak Ti...

However, while there's a panic already over this "feature", her carded figure seems to NOT have the same feature, or it's covered up or plugged with something while the loose shot of her shows the feature clearly.

Huh?  What spoiler-ish feature?

I've seen a few people say this, but I don't "see" anything... I must be missing something.   :-\

Kubricks / Re: Kubricks and Minimates

If you can wait until March, Diamond is importing both the X-Men and the Spiderman sets meaning that you can get them from a local comic shop or on-line.  In fact, most on-line comic shops have started taking pre-orders if you'd like to go that route...

At Mile-High Comics:
X-Men set
Spiderman Set

Otherwise, if you can't wait until March I've seen both the sets on eBay for similar $40 price, but more for shipping.

Lose 5 in a row, win seven in a row, lose 6 in a row.

Ugh.  I am tired of this bad chemistry, streaky junk this year.  Who do we think we areplaying like this, the LAkers?  Maybe KG wants a challenge with a lower playoff seed or maybe he needs a break from the playoffs this year, I don't know.

The worst part is without the Wild, I'm stuck following this train wreck of a squad.  The worst part is knowing that this team is basically the same as last year and it is only their in-fighting and bad seeds that have derailed us...   :'(

Maybe I'll take a break from sports for a bit and just pick up the Twins in March... I can always jump back on the wolves bandwagon when/if they make the playoffs I guess.

The Official Site provides an update tonight on the 60 piece set...

"Star Wars Miniatures has two full sets scheduled for 2005. In April, Revenge of the Sith adds 60 new figures, including key Episode III characters, lightsaber-wielding Jedi and Sith, more Wookiees -- even General Grievous and his bodyguards. In September, the game's Universe expansion introduces 60 more figures from the Original Trilogy era and beyond, and also introduces a big (and we mean BIG) new aspect to the game.

Each expansion will also be followed by an Ultimate Missions sourcebook, providing new maps and scenarios for Miniature gameplay. Ultimate Missions: Clone Strike releases on March 4, followed in June by Ultimate Missions: Revenge of the Sith, and August by Ultimate Missions: Universe.

Plus, in November be sure to look for the Star Wars Miniatures AT-AT, the most massive addition yet to the Miniatures game."

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Your TV
« on: February 8, 2005, 04:43 PM »
Over the last weekend, our "upstairs" TV (25" Sony, circa 1992) started "bleeding" red.  I could tell that the picture tube was getting worse, but now it is finally getting ugly.  Everything is pretty fuzzy and now the color reds "bleed/streak across the screen.   :'(

The current plan is to take the old "new" TV (27" Magnavox) and move that one upstairs.  That way, the new "new" TV will go in the lower family room (where we do most of our TV/DVD watching).

We've been looking for a new TV for the last 4 months, and we finally got off our butts and went shopping for a new TV.  We finally got off our butts because the old TV mentioned above finally just up and died.  Wont even work now, tube is completely shot.  Nothing like necessity to motivate you.   ;)

Like I mentioned in the earlier post, we were considering moving the 27" Magnavox upstairs and buying a new TV for the Family Room (basement), but we decided against it.  The wife decided it would be too tricky to accomodate a big TV upstairs (too much rearranging), so we decided to leave the TV where it was and buy a new one for the upstairs.

We finally decided on this little guy:

http://www.sharpusa.com/products/ModelLanding/0,1058,1398,00.html

Sharp AQUOS 15" LCD

I ended up ordering it on-line last night (as BB was sold-out).  Got a great deal too by ordering on-line (including tax and shipping it was still cheaper then just the best buy sale price).

It seemed to have everything we were looking for for an upstairs TV.  Looking at all the TVs in the 13-17" range, we really liked the color on this guy best.  It isn't HDTV, but rather EDTV (enhanced TV).  We figured that was OK because we don't have digital cable or satellite, so none of the programs we watch now are in HDTV format anyway.

We decided on a slightly smaller screen because this TV is primarily only used for watching the TV news before bedtime or the morning news before work.  We don't really do too much TV or movie watching upstairs, as all the good DVD equipment is downstairs.

All and all, pretty happy with this TV.  I think it should serve it's purpose well.  :)

Starting to get some reports that the Preview Jedi Fighter showed up today at Meijer's on the East Coast.  Apparently it was in the Sunday Ad for $16.99 and they are showing up today.

Shouldn't be much longer and they will be everywhere I would guess...
