Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS - Deluxe Figures
« on: May 9, 2005, 10:38 PM »

Well, this RotS version is the one I got.  *whew*  :)

I'm not really interested in the TPM color since I've already got like 4 of those (the 3-pack and the one from the Naboo Ship).

I guess it fits with the standard Hasbro practice to take the suckiest figure in a wave (Vulture Droid) and make it the one that pisses collectors off because they can't get it (or all the variations of it)!  :P

Anyone have a picture of the color variants on the Vulture Droid?  :-\

I got one last week, but have no idea which one it is...  :(

I don't really care if we get all the Clones with the pretty paint schemes.  As otheres have said, it's not too hard to paint/repaint clones yourself.  Just find the right shade of paint and a #6 or #41 Clone and you're off!

What I would like to see though are all the unique Clone Commanders - those with the different helmets/armor designs, like #33 and Bacarra.  I'm glad we're getting Bly in the Evolutions set and I'd like to see Commander Cody and the other Commanders too.

Kubricks / Series 4
« on: May 9, 2005, 04:59 PM »
I had a dream last night about SW Series 4...

In my dream the chases were:

Lobot (in the Bespin Luke box) - 3/48
Capt/Adm Piett (in the Vader Box) - 1/96
Imperial Dignitary (in the Emperor box) - 1/96

In my dream, they kicked ass!  Guess I'm starting to get ansy for Series 4 in a few weeks!

Of course, I am not known to predict the future, so take it with a grain of salt for now.  If it turns out to be right, I'll start up my own Psychic hot-line or something...  :P

From the fine folks at Hasbro:

"As our collector fans know, Target will offer an exclusive Star Wars: Episode III Collector's Case 5 pack for 2005. Originally scheduled for release early May, we are reworking based on initial collector feedback, making adjustments to ensure every Star Wars: Episode III 3 3/4 inch action figure fits properly within each case.  We will update fans on availability of this improved value 5-pack version when we have more information.

Thanks for your feedback and we are confident you will enjoy the final product soon. "

Another good deal with Brent!

I sent Brent a big box of exclusives and he sent me some cash.

It was an awesome deal that I will keep in my heart forever.   ;)

I have a totaly apathy for the NBA this playoff season.

No Wolves to cheer for, no LAkers to cheer against... boring.   :'(

Seems pretty quiet in here, so I must not be the only one.  No playoff smack-talking without the Woofies and the Kobes?  :-\

How 'bout those Celtics Brent?

Bonds -

First, will he make it back this year?

I kinda hope he does only because I want to see him come to town when the Twins play the Giants, but I don't know if he will be the same player with his bum knee.

Second, will he have to move to the AL to be a DH to end his career?

Can you picture Bonds in Pinstripes?  You know if they Giants decide to move him, the Yankers would be all over it.  I'd love to see where the bidding war would end up...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Pegwarmers?
« on: May 6, 2005, 02:07 PM »
Thought it was time to bump up the pegwarmer thread...

Here in MN the pegs are full of the first wave of deluxe, lots of all 4 of those guys left.  :(

For the basic figures, just about everywhere I go Tarfful and Grievous Bodyguard outnumber the rest of the figures 5-to-1.  Anakin and Obi-Wan (all versions) sell pretty well and disappear over time, but those Grievous Bodyguards just sit there and clog up the pegs.

One Target I hit today had 20+ Bodyguard on the pegs and 15+ Tarfful, easily outnumbering anyone else that was there.

Have a pegwarmer you're sick of seeing already (even though it's only been 1 month  :P)?

Wow, it's been several days and still no word on whether these will be available beyond Khol's. Also, why would Khol's be able to get something first?

This is quite interesting.

All the info I have heard thus far from Hasbro indicates that these will only be able at Kohl's (therefore Kohl's exclusives).

So, I've heard from a few Target people and they all seem to confirm that in some way, shape, form, or another Target has been asked to return their stock of these to Hasbro.

Some Targets were told to just "destroy" them instead of the cost of shiping them back to Hasbro.   :o

Other Targets seem to be saying "who cares" and selling what they have left.  I wonder what the heck is going on with these?

Did Hasbro recall them because they don't fit the figures?  Because they are too close to an existing case design?  Because they are Hasbro and they make strange decisions once in a while?

Episode 1 / Re: Hardest Episode 1 figure to find?
« on: May 6, 2005, 10:44 AM »
My "hardest to find" Episode 1 Figure was the stupid "Swimming Jar-Jar".  I think he was 1-per-case in that box and I kept just missing him.   :-\

I'd find Soft Goods Qui-Gon and Damaged Droideka, but that dang Gungan eluded me to the very end.  I lucked out and stumbled into a cache of the HTF Collection 2 and 3 figures (Sio, Ascention Maidala, Pit Droids, R2-B1, TC-14), but that stupid "swimming JarJar" took a while.

The worst part is I was stressing over not having a JarJar figure...  ::)
