Think of it this way, if Willis' ERA and WHIP have inflated so woefully over the past 2 years in the NL, imagine how ugly he's gonna be in the AL where ERA's tend to rise 1.00 and K's/9 tend to drop 2/game?

Yeah, that's why I threw the "if he returns to form" bit in there.  He's had a few bad years, but the potential is there.  Plus, like you say, he should get plenty of run support and having 3-4 starts each against KC and a Santana-less Twins should help him as well.   :P

Exactly...how do you even think about trading the best pitcher in baseball?  Pay the guy and move on...I hate you Pohlad, I hate you so so much

Amen.

Also, The L.A. Times is reporting that Adam Brody has landed the role of Flash in the upcoming JLA flick (which apparently isn't greenlit, according to this article as well).

So we've got a rumored cast of...

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

- actor Adam Brody (OC's Seth Cohen) as Flash / Wally West
- rapper Common as Green Lantern / John Stewart
- model Megan Gale as Wonder Woman
- actor Armie Hammer as Batman / Bruce Wayne
- actor Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) as Superman / Clark Kent
- actress Zoe Kazan as Iris Allen
- actress Teresa Palmer as Talia Al-Ghul

I've been reading some interesting things that say the movie starts off with Barry Allen's funeral.  Now that would be a strange way to start, but probably give the JLA (and Wally) reason to go after who ever did it.

How Talia, daughter of Ra's al Ghul, fits into the whole thing is a bit strange though...  ???

Fin Fang Foom looks great, but everytime I see one of these DLX Marvel sets I can't help but think how great it would be to get a Rancor/Oola or Tusken/Bantha Pack in the Star Wars line.  :-\

Man, I knew Cabrera was on the market, but I didn't think they'd send Dontrell Willis with him.   :o

Tigers send top prospects to Marlins for Cabrera, Willis

If Willis returns to form (and we trade Santana), that Tigers rotation is probably the strongest in the AL Central.

I got my sets from New Force today. :)

I have to say that the Clone box is pretty sweet.  Some nice sculpts (Airborne, Marine, RotS Evo, #41), combined with some nice paint jobs (2x 501st, 5th Fleet) and some new parts (new Clone Engineer head, new weapons).  It's a great deal for the $31 I paid for it.

It's a bummer though that the RotS Evo sculpt 501st figure is stuck in here because he's a figure very deserving of a Legends-esque re-release for army building purposes.  I hope we see him again down the line...  same with the 501st Jet Pack trooper.  I know the sculpt isn't the greatest, but his new 501st paint deco, jetpack and blaster are pretty cool looking.

The Droid set is fine.  Some nice repaints, but nothing really "wow" packed in there.

Other Collectibles / Re: Gentle Giant Statues
« on: December 4, 2007, 10:33 PM »
It wasn't just RS, it was Gentle Giant themselves who said it would be shipping this week:

Posted 11/28 (last week):
The Darth Vader ESB Statue just arrived at the docks today, so we should be shipping that out by the end of next week.

Strange that they would push it back after saying that, unless maybe something was wrong with the statues once they started prepping them for shipment...?

Robb bought a pile of loose figures from me and was kind enough to zip along payment in a speedy fashion.  :)

Ace and Wild Weasel

I'll bet it's this issue that comes with them:

One of my all-time favorite GI Joe issues and the one most often re-created by me and my friend Dan as I chased his Skystriker around the neighborhood with my Rattler...  :D

Hmmm...  sounds like the BoSox are now willing to offer either Ellsbury, Lester, or Buchholz in a deal, but not more than one.  So, we've got:

Phil Hughes
Melky Cabrera
And a mid-level prospect to be named

or

Jacoby Ellsbury (or Lester or Buchholz)
Jed Lowrie
a minor league pitcher to be named

Obviously, both Ellsbury and either Lester/Buchholz would have been a great deal better than the couple sandwich draft picks we'd get if Santana just left us at the end of 2008, but I'm not sure which deal I like if we only get one young "A-level" pick from Boston. :-\

In other "dismantling the Twins" news, from what I am reading and hearing around here it's really begining to sound like if Santana is indeed traded, it's only a matter of time before closer Joe Nathan is traded as well for a 3B prospect and more young pitching...  :'(

I think all that is planned for 2008 so far is:

Confirmed:
 Legends Commander Neyo (fan choice)
Legends Covert Ops Clone Trooper (fan choice)
 Legends Shadow Stormtrooper (fan choice)
Legends Utapau Shadow Trooper (fan choice)
 Legends Zev Senesca (fan choice)
Legends Pit Droids [v4 - white, tan toolbox] (shown at Dallas con)
Legends Pit Droids [v5 - maroon, tan toolbox] (shown at Dallas con)
Legends Pit Droids [v6 - orange, tan toolbox] (shown at Dallas con)
Legends Sandtrooper [Evolutions? sculpt, Black Pauldron, Dirty] (according to the Hasbro Q&A)
Legends Sandtrooper [Saga-037 sculpt, Black Pauldron, Clean] (according to Curto)
Legends Sandtrooper [Evolutions sculpt, White Pauldron, Dirty] (according to Curto)
Legends 501st Legion Trooper [v2 - #41 sculpt, clean] (according to Curto)

Plus, I'm sure, re-shipments of some of the 2007 Legends to fill out the cases.

I got my box from New Force today.

I think my favorite is actually Pax.  He's a very cool repaint of a very well articulated sculpt.  Nice to have a little Rodian diversity for the galaxy.

The rest?  Meh...

The Hasbro mini-unleashed packaging just calls him "Stormtrooper Commander".

Very awesome on the grail tablet.  ;D I hope the artifacts are in scale witht he figures but it doesnt look like the idol is.

Ah, but the jacketed, SA Indy apparently comes with an idol that is in scale:

Yeah, I think the intent of the "bonus artifacts" is along the line of the mini-holos.  They are not intended to be in-scale accessories, but rather intended to be the little pack-in freebies for the Indy figs.
